Re: Bora Bora Thread

Read this thread, and it was so helpful. Really looking forward to possibly going here on my honeymoon. Just wanted to see if anyone can recommend things to do there at night. We are hoping to go to Moorea and Bora Bora. Thanks for your help.

When are you thinking about going?
How many nights are you planning on staying at each location?
Which hotels/resorts are you considering?
Are you considering overwater, garden, lagoon, etc lodging?
What do you must have to do there and what you can live without doing?
Have you contacted Travel Agents yet?
I have a bunch or a little over half a dozen travel agents I can FM you and tell you which one I decided to book if you want you...

Re: Bora Bora Thread

Does anyone know if you're supposed to/did you get vaccines before going to Tahiti? Traveling to such a distant location with strange diseases makes me a little nervous.

Re: Bora Bora Thread

I'm going to Moorea and Bora Bora for my honeymoon in June. I have a few questions for those of you who have already went:

1 - what time do people go to dinner there?
2 - did you eat at Villa Mahana? If so, how did you make reservations? Did you reconfirm them after you made the reservation? I have a reservation there but I booked it through the TA and I'm not sure if I should reconfirm it.
3 - Is there anything you packed that you wish you left home?
4 - Is there anything you didn't pack that you wish you had?
5 - Any recommendations on where to buy pearls?

I know these are a lot of questions, but I'm just trying to make sure I'm organized.

TIA!!!!

no vaccinations if you are coming from the US. Remember, it's French owned.
There really isn't strange diseases there.

1 - anytime you want! it's all restaurants that you are going to... so you go when you are comfortable going. Sunset is probably the nicest though!

2 - no because you need to make reservations for that place months in advance. so if you want to make one then do so now. i do think you should confirm... just to be certain but if your TA did it then you should be good. I just know it doesn't hurt to reconfirm.

3 - no not really. if anything i don't think I packed enough! Ha ha.. I kept running out of stuff.

4 - i wish i packed more lotion etc. I did all travel size stuff and we went away for a long time so we were running out. make sure you bring water shoes and sunblock. buy all products and pack them... do not plan on buying any products there. def get a few bottles of liquor duty free. It's all insanely expensive to buy on the islands.

5 - get it from a duty free pearl shop. there are tons and tons of pearl places on all the islands. we got a pearl from a duty free place.

Our TA made our Villa Mahana reservations, and we didn't reconfirm. When we got to hotel, though, we made sure they knew and they called VM to arrange pick up for us.

Re: Bora Bora Thread

Has anyone done (or thinking of doing) the motu private picnic in Bora Bora? It seems like that 'once in a lifetime' type of thing, but it is btw. $800 - $1000! Not sure if it is really worth it.

Yeah. It is serious $$$ and those are the best prices I found. I'm staying at Hilton Bora Bora Nui in an OWB. We'll be there for 6 days and 1 day in Tahiti.

when are you going? We're going the next day after our wedding. So we'll be sleeping on the plane. We're staying at the nui as well for 3 nights. 1 night in tahiti - manava, than 5 nights in moorea hilton...3 nights in bora bora nui...Did you get any honeymoon amenties? I think our travel agent included a few items in each place.

What are you plans to do?
