Re: Greek Brides??
I was reading the posts about the church tips with great interest. Would someone please tell me how much of a tip is expected and who gets one?

LImom - ask the church - they are each individuals in what they would like to be 'donated'....

Re: Greek Brides??
Irene 'SCOOP' thanks for the well wishesThe planning is coming along. I wish I had everything done already so that I could just sit and relax, but as all you ladies know there are so many small details, that even if I had everything done, there would still be things left to do last minute.

Re: Greek Brides??
I'm not using a Greek band, as there will not be to many people from FH's side of the family. Except for his parents and sister, the rest of the family lives in Cyprus and as of right now it doesn't look like anyone will be making the trip for the wedding.

Re: Greek Brides??
Olga-- I think they put everything on a tray for you with what you will need. From what I remember (my koubaro bought everything) was 2 large candles, two small candles, koufeta & stephana. I don't remember any oil...I think this is only for a baptism but I could be wrong.

Re: Greek Brides??
the oil for crismation is for the baptism. The koumbaro will be buying all this stuff but since we are in the older generation of the familias, our parents are rusty with this stuff

Re: Greek Brides??
Good question! I know in Greece they give the koufeta out right after the ceremony But to make things easier I will probably end up putting them w/the favors.

Re: Greek Brides??
i'll be giving them out as a minifavor while leaving the church.... i'm going to have my sister holding one white basket w/the flower cone holders & petals, and then i'll have my brother holding the other white basket w/the koufetas wrapped up in toule!

Re: Greek Brides??
I never thought of giving them out at the church. What a great idea! We just gave them out with the favor at the end of the evening.

Re: Greek Brides??
yah.....then you can take time off to enjoy your self. What is everyone's plans this summer? No big plans for me....just a long weekend get away (5 days) to greenport in July and my cousin's bachelorette party in August. We are going to the Mohegun Sun in Connecticut.
I am very busy at work during the summer, so I can't go away for very long. My husband & I are going to plan a trip to the bahamas in the fall to celebrate our 1 year anniversary. I can't wait.
