Re: <3 Official Russo's on the Bay Thread <3

I'm back and married!!! This isn't by any means my full review but I just wanted to let all of u know that Russo's was AMAZING!!! They really turned my wedding dream into reality. We felt like royalty from the moment we walked in til the moment we left. The food and service were excellent. Everyone has commented on how amazing the food was. The Venetian Hour was out of control...there were sooo many goodies to choose from. I had take home boxes made up with our names and date and they were such a hit. People were filling those boxes to the top with desserts! Our Maitre'D was Joe Vacca and I cannot say enough about how wonderful he is. He didn't leave our side all night and took care of every single detail for us. Mr. Russo came in our room atleast a half dozen times and went around to the tables asking if everything was going ok and if we needed anything. I could go on and on, but in the end the one thing that will stand out is that Russo's did an amazing job and made my wedding truly spectacular. Upcoming Russo's brides has nothing to worry about...stay tuned for my longer and more detailed review

Re: <3 Official Russo's on the Bay Thread <3

Question: Are there any Sunday brides out there that were not required to pay for a minimum of 200 pp? I am quesitoning whether or not I should have tried to change that (or if I still can) in the contract.
Thanks ladies!

Charles Park is a park that is kinda behind Russo's (across the bay area). FH and I are having our engagement shoot there.

I'm also a Sunday bride- in March 08 though.. we have the Tivoli room and we're only contracted for a minimum of 125 guests.

Omg the cake choices are amazing.. too bad FH can't have chocolate- that rules out a few I can't wait to taste!!!

Re: <3 Official Russo's on the Bay Thread <3

How is the Holiday Inn? Not the Express one - the big one in Jamaica? I have a temp room block there until I finally decide (which has to be very very soon). I originally had Hilton Garden but when I went to see it in person, it took me forever to find a spot and I said no way to this!

The Holiday Inn was nice (not the express one). We were going to to a block there but ended up with the Fairfield Inn (mariott) by JFK.. they were just as nice also they have plenty of parking for the amount of guests we are expecting from OOT.. (we're inviting 200- about 1/4 are from out of town). Aside from being less expensive, the Fairfield is giving us a free shuttle for the guests to and from Russo's the day of the wedding so that makes it so much easier on us. They also give the guests continental breakfast as well.

As for the 400 guests... all I can say is WoW..lol

I have the Tivoli room for March 9, 2008 .. we'll probably end up with 150-175 guests at the rate we're going.

We almost booked Classie Sounds- we ended up going with Sound Check- another Russo's vendor.

I can't wait- Russo's does an excellet job so I'm not worried one bit..

Re: <3 Official Russo's on the Bay Thread <3

Right next door to the Hilton Garden Inn they are opening a Sheraton which will be a full service hotel. Not sure if that would make the parking better or worse. Please let us know the rate you got for the Fairfield. How much further away is that from Russo's? The Hilton Garden Inn seems the closest.

PS Should a new thread be posted since this one is so old?

Re: <3 Official Russo's on the Bay Thread <3

I wondered the same thing about this thread..I talked to the lady at the Hilton about the Sheraton. It's supposed to open in October - and she was honest with me and said the parking is something they were working on. Off-street parking was the only thing now if you can't find parking in either of the lots there. I'm not kidding, when I went last week, it took me about 10 minutes to find a spot. Imagine I have 75 rooms there! I cancelled it and made it for the Holiday Inn! Only 15 bucks more a night!
