Got the dress from NY Bridal Couture in Staten Island during the Eve of Milady Trunk Show.

I've met with Kelly. I think she's GREAT! I email her more than I email my banquet manager and she gets back to me quickly and answers all my questions.

Re: <3 Official Russo's on the Bay Thread <3

Hi Ladies,

Hotels, Hotels, Hotels.....

So we had originally booked with Hilton Garden Inn for our wedding on Sunday night, 6/1, but wanted to switch to Fairfield Inn since they had great rates, complimentary breakfast. But just a warning, Fairfield Management is terrible. They put us off for a week, promising us this and that and then in the end they finally told us they couldn't accomodate a block bigger than 30 rooms. I didn't want to give them the business anyways I was so frustrated.

So we are back to sticking with the Hilton Garden Inn... what are you other girls doing for shuttling people back and forth from Russo's to your hotel? Any good deals on shuttle service? Hilton wants to charge 250 a run (which is only 4 miles one way) which I think is totally absurd.

Need help / advice if anyone has any on shuttles!

Re: <3 Official Russo's on the Bay Thread <3

I am having the same problem for my daughter's wedding. That $250 per round trip run seems excessive. We may ask the limo company if they can provide the shuttle. We're also dissapointed that the Sheraton still is not opened and may not be until the end of the summer.
PS Was the Fairfield offering a shuttle?

Re: <3 Official Russo's on the Bay Thread <3

Dont you just hate when things go wrong?

I thought Russo's had said that the Hilton provided the shuttle back and forth? I dont remember them saying anything about an extra charge. Maybe you should call Kelly at Russo's and ask her. I havnt picked a hotel yet. I will only need a few rooms for my parents and brothers so I'm waiting a while to see if the Sheraton will FINALLY open!

Re: <3 Official Russo's on the Bay Thread <3

I did talk to Kelly (they only recommend Hilton Garden Inn) and they said they apparently priced the shuttle to be comparable with the JFK airport transportation companies. I still find that hard to believe. It's only four miles! Not to mention, breakfast is another charge and I hear parking is very difficult there which I am also worried about.

Some Russo's girls supposedly had free shuttle service with Fairfield Inn back in August but they told us something around 200 so I'm not sure there. They only have 110 rooms and are hesitant to give away any blocks. Their staff is extremely incompetent in my opinion.

Anyways, I may also look into our transportation company but this expense and breakfast are big expenses that I didn't consider well enough. I have almost no time to figure this out.

I put calls into Crowne Plaza and Doubletree but no calls back yet.

Fabulousmandy - your gown is sooo pretty! And thank you for mentioning the cake- it's going to be soo awesome!

I actually just finished my seating and we're just waiting to hear from Russo's as to when we can drop off the favors and stuff...going to be a busy busy week

I have rooms blocked at the Fairfield and they are not incompetent in any way toward me or FH.. they also recently changed managers so that may have been the problem there...I think that is the problem- if you need the new contact information for the woman dealing with the Fairfield blocks just send me a FM- she's really on top of things.

We only needed like 10 rooms and the rate per night (with breakfast) is only $129/$149 per night depending on the room.

We blocked off the rooms over this past summer so we got the free shuttle from them to and from Russo's... I think it's an extremely good deal and they also have free shuttles to and from JFK as well for those flying in...all the other hotels seemed more expensive and you had to pay for the shuttle and also pay for breakfast!

Either that or we left three messages with some hotels and then got no call backs from them- totally frustrating!

Re: <3 Official Russo's on the Bay Thread <3

By the way ladies here's a pic of the chest that we had gotten from Russo's - FH went and took out all the goodies before I can take a pic of it filled up with just about all sorts of good things like wine, cheese, crackers, apples, nuts, olives, and chocolate. It now has a place of honor in the living room as you can see.
