Re: <3 Official Russo's on the Bay Thread <3

WOW I can not beleive that about the shuttles. I was under the impression that they were included. I guess I will have to look into the Fairfield also. DO you know how many people the shuttle bus holds? If worse comes to worse we are renting one of the big party buses for the bridal party I will have to have that drop us off and then start making trips. Although then I would have to figure out away to get everyone back.... I guess this is just another thing I have to add onto my list...

As for happy things I am having my tasting tomorrow night, yeah!!! I am so excited. Not sure what to expect...

I a just set up the appt for my tasting.. So excited.
How dressed up do I need to get?

You have to be able to blend in with whatever crowd is there that particular night- I posted about my tasting if you go back on the thread a few pages... it should give you an idea of what to expect- all I have to say is go hungry!

I finalized everything with Russo's yesterday by the way ladies and I chose my cake!

It looks like hearts stacked up ontop of one another - they call it 'Amore'. We're doing the Napolean cake as the filling and all and I just want to eat some NOW!!.

I am so super excited and I can finally start doing my tables (I have mine done just FH has to do his .. hahaha to him )

I can't wait for less than three more weeks!

Also because we're getting married they gifted us this really awesome looking chest with wine (both red and white), crackers, cheese, fruits and nuts, olives, and two wine glasses in it as well.

FH went and opened it before I can take a picture of it to post I'll get a picutre of the chest though once I put all the stuff inside the fridge.

Also I had a LIW bride sighting- I happened to be there when Sexidevilgrl was getting married!! I saw her for like a milisecond (I didn't peek because that's rude) but everyone was so happy!!

Congratulations and have a great time on Sunday.... Enjoy ever minute of it.

HI,
i believe the chair covers are an extra 8 per person.

What do you still need to book as a vendor for your wedding. I have alot more time for my wedding but I have been researching different vendors & comparing them with Russo's. Let me know I would be happy to give you any advise.

Re: <3 Official Russo's on the Bay Thread <3

Hi fellow Russo's brides!!

To answer the last question I think they are about $8.00 per chair but imo I thought that I didn't need it- the chairs were really nice and didn't need them.

If you use their vendors you get great deals- also they coordinate together and it makes the whole day flow better.

The wedding was really great and we just got home from our honeymoon early this morning and thought I'd pop in and say hi and give a mini review until I can get my official one up. I'll be working on my official long a$$ review so that when I get my professional pics everyone can get the whole picture at once but here's a mini review so far:

Fairfield Inn by Marriott (JFK)- They really ended up being worth the hassles that DH and I had- they stepped up and really came through. They also delivered my OOT boxes on time. They had shuttles for the guests to and from Russo's and they were on time and held about 25 people each.

Sabrina & Clarisse from Hair Expo (makeup & hair)- absolutely the best choice I have made! I loved my hair and makeup- makeup stayed on all night and hair stayed in place all day !! Both are from Hair Expo in Oceanside but Sabrina is a part of the LIW vendor Sabrina & Carolyn- only reason why Carolyn couldn't do my hair is because of her pregnant status.

Flower Michele- As I had said once again John is a floral genius! Flowers were delivered to Russo's on time and they were perfect- everyone loved them!

Tony Ferrari Studios (Photography & Video) - They were wonderful! I loved every minute we spent with them- I know that the photos and video are going to be fantastic! I can't wait to see them!

Designer Limos- Very excellent service- clean car and also courteous and on time driver (I forgot his name!!). He was great getting us to and from Russo's on time and all.

SoundCheck Entertainment- DJ Mike Nappi kept everything going smoothly and played all the songs we wanted and really kept us on the dance floor!!!

Of course saving the best for last:
Russo's on the Bay
No words can describe how excellent everything went and the whole day was FLAWLESS with no problems! The staff was wonderful and the food was plentiful and nobody had any complaints. They really went the extra mile and we love them for everything that they have done and did for us!!
I can honestly tell all you Russo's brides that you have NOTHING to worry about!

I put some non professional wedding pics up for now until I get some more and I'll add in the honeymoon photos...... I'll tell you this much it was an AMAZING wedding and honeymoon!!

It's good to be back and posting on LIW again!

Re: <3 Official Russo's on the Bay Thread <3

I am soo happy to here you had an amazing wedding experiance. I think we all made the right chioce with picking Russo's on the Bay.

Tell me more about the photographer. I had an appointment with them a few weeks ago. I thought there worked looked good I really liked there video. My only concern is that all there photo's look so posed lol. I of couse want traditional posed photo's but I also want that photo journalistic look & feel for my wedding photo's. I did not tell them that because Kelly from Russo's told me not to say that work that all photographers charge more once they hear 'photo journalistic'. let me know what you thought of how they went about photographing your wedding.

All the best to you & your new hubby. I am happy to see you back on.

Ladies I know I have alot of time before my wedding day but, I fell in love with a wedding gown & went to try it on. Once I figure out how you post photo's on this website I would like to hear your opinions. Talk to you all soon.

By the way was the shuttle free from the hotel to Russo's?

The shuttle was $200 from the Fairfield Inn to Russo's and back.. lots cheaper though than hiring a limo company to do it...they wanted $700 for the same type of shuttle so we used the hotels shuttle. We talked them down though from I think $300 for the shuttle since it was a Sunday morning and not busy for them.

I absolutely love Tony Ferrari Studios- we met with them first after seeing like about 7 different photographers in a variety of price ranges.. since I was in a small hotel room I didn't want the photographer at the hotel- just at Russo's - it also helps if you want to see FH before the wedding because we saved lots of time there just getting pictures out of the way so we can enjoy the day more.
We booked Tony Ferrari and they threw in a free engagement shoot so we got to meet up with Mike who was our photographer from our engagement shoot and we all clicked right away so we requested him (and got him) for our wedding. He was wonderful and some of the photographs were traditionally posed but some weren't.
I love also the way they set up DH and I seeing each other for the first time... I was on the elevator and he was waiting upstairs in front of the elevator- he saw me when the door opened and DH said 'Holy S**t you look beautiful!!' Everyone heard that and laughed at his reaction to me...including me... It was priceless though.
Mike showed me a few shots (since it's all digital) as we were taking them so I know I am getting great photos.. not that I had any doubt since we did the engagement shoot with them. Even my really picky aunt loved working with Mike...and she's REALLY picky.

Yes it's true if you want photojournalist type photos it will raise the price but imo they would be worth it.

Hope I answered your questions - if anything shoot me a FM.

Re: <3 Official Russo's on the Bay Thread <3

Thanks for the info. I am going to still shop around for photography, but I am going to keep them in mind since you thought they were great. I also had a nice vibe from them when I met with Judy to go over packages. I would love to meet up with my FH before the church to get alot of photo's out of the way, but he is being traditional lol. He wants to see me for the first time walking down the aisle.

We haven't done anything traditional lol & all of a sudden he wants to be traditional. It's cute but I want to enjoy my cocktail hour lol

Re: <3 Official Russo's on the Bay Thread <3

Hey Kris..I totally understand about the 'too posed' look a lot of photographers have. I dont like it at all! Ive been to a TON of photographers already and decided to go with Twelfth Night. I LOVE HIS PICS!!!! they are so candid and 'journalistic' LOL if you FM me ur email address I can email you the quotes I have from:
Twelfth Night
Thomas Paul (ALSO VERY GOOD!)
Golden Moments
Tony Ferrari
Leli Photographer.

They are all good but all have different styles.

As far as looking for your dress, its NEVER too early! i already bought mine! lol
you should chat on the 09 brides board. there is TONS of info and all the girls have so many things done already you'd be amazed!

Hi,
I have heard good things about Riccardo, but doesn't he only do videography? I would go talk with him for the hell of it to get a price but I am on a budget & would like to see if I can get a photo/vidoe package.

Are you using him?

Re: <3 Official Russo's on the Bay Thread <3

I'm a Russo's Bride too. May 9, 2008. I feel so left out because I live out of state so have to do all of my planning from afar I wish I got to go and do all the things all of the other brides are doing. I do know one thing, I would never have been able to plan from here without ToniAnn. She is an absolute doll, and while there are many things that are stressing me out about my wedding day, Russo's is definately not one of them!!!

Thank you guys!!! If I need anything I will definately let you know. Right now I'm trying to figure out cake designs before my meeting with ToniAnn to finalize the menu next month. Also, have any of you talked about decorating the rooms? My aunt is making our centerpieces for us and with the Tivoli room I wasn't sure it needed a lot of decor as it is breathtaking without it. What do you think?
