Re: NEW official Flowerfields thread
Just went to FF last week with my mom and sister. They have never seen it. THEY LOVED IT!!!!!! I took lots of pictures. It looked beautiful decorated for Christmas. I want Christmas in October!!!!!!!! I'll try to download some of the pictures for you all to see. I have to go back this weekend to leave another payment and to decide on hotels - I am debating between the Hyatt and the Marriott. Any suggestions???

Re: NEW official Flowerfields thread
Another VERY excited Flowerfield bride here!!I just joined LIWeddings yesterday and I'm addicted!! My fiance and I are 2007 people. Our date is September 9, 2007 in the evening.
We would have been September 2006 but my older sister got engaged around the same time as us and since she wants to start a family right away she is going to get married first on August 27, 2006 at Lombardi's on the Sound. My FH and I decided to wait another year to save up money and to give my poor parents a brake! (Then me and my sister will both have our own moments in the sun!)
**As for the open house at Flowerfield. I called and spoke with someone who told me that they JUST decided on a date for it. It is going to be March 19, 2006 (a month after the Land's End open house). They are not positive on the time yet, they said they are sending out invitations to FF booked brides. I AM SO EXCITED FOR IT! Hope to see you all there!**

I'll be there! Also, for you girls looking into hotels try the Holiday Inn in Hauppauge for the shuttle benefit.

Just thought I'd pop in and say hi! I'm a Flowerfield bride too... booked Oct 6, 2007. I'm so excited! Of all the places I saw, Flowerfield was the only place that really felt special and unique to me. It's got so much character and personality!

Re: NEW official Flowerfields thread
I am a June 3rd Flowerfield's bride! I am so excited you found out about the open house because I was getting antsy, I thought it was supposed to be in January. We booked our hotel rooms at the Marriott for $99 and are very happy with the service/hotel accommodations, etc. I dealt with a woman named Diana and she's been wonderful (at the Marriott that is).I am 147 days away!!! So excited, I love flowerfield's!

**You are all very welcome for the info on FF's open house!! I'm very excited to go--I want to live there I love it so much!! I still need to find out the starting time for sure, Land's End is also on a Sunday and that is at 3pm so I'm assuming it will be the same... but because they had JUST set the date they were not positive... I'll keep everyone posted!!**

Re: NEW official Flowerfields thread
Hmm all this talk about hotels. can someone tell me what is the deal with the shuttle from the Holiday Inn in Hauppauge, it is included? We blocked rooms at a hotel on 347 in Stonybrook, they provide the shuttle but we pay for it.
Help ladies TIA!

Re: NEW official Flowerfields thread
What hotel is there on 347? We did the Marriott which is ~12 minutes (as per Mapquest) and I got Alert Bus Company for my bus service, they are based out of Suffolk county. I did major searching on the bus company deal and they are so expensive, the cheapest we found was $825 from Alert Bus Company (it's a coach 55 passenger bus) and they will do 2 pick ups from the Marriott to Flowerfield's and two returns at the end of the night. Most of the other bus companies wanted much more than that and for only ONE trip. The only downfall I've found to having a wedding at St.James is that there really are no good hotels very close by...But i'm willing to take that considering Flowerfield's is incredible in every other way!

We used Alert and they were great and the cheapest. We stayed at the Hyatt because we wanted to have a brunch and also they gave us the best room rate. We also drove it out and it was the closest for what we wanted

Re: NEW official Flowerfields thread
You went to a tasting tonight? That is sooo awesome!!! How did you do yours so early before your wedding? We want to do ours now!!
THe hotel is brand new its on 347, its I think Holiday Inn in Stonybrook, they are so great to deal with but the rooms are a little bit more than $99, hwoever we dont expect too many OOT guests, mainly our friends from Queens and some family.
THe woman I am working with at the hotel gave me some quotes for the shuttle, its based on how many people we have stay at the hotel but they seemed reaosonable.
Did the hotel where you are booking rooms provide you with cards for the invites? Are you going to put them in the invites?
They gave us cards, I guess we will throw them in the invitations

Re: NEW official Flowerfields thread
We blocked at the Hauppauge Holiday Inn for $139 a night including the shuttle. I thought it was the best deal, but now we're thinking we may prefer to have someplace a little bit nicer with a bar for everyone to hang out at after. however, this way we would be responsible for paying for the shuttle.I went to a wedding last night and it seemed like no one wanted the party to end so that's what they did. They also had a brunch this morning and it was nice to see everyone, including the bride and groom.
I'm confused about where all these hotels are located. I heard the marriot was 20+ minutes away. I spoke with someone at Flowerfield the other day and she said the Holiday Inn was the closest hotel and the others were all near eachother about 20-25 minutes away. I'm confused

Re: NEW official Flowerfields thread
I mapped out the Marriott and it said it was 16 minutes from FF. I think guests would just take Nichols Rd all the way up.We had our tasting early b/c my mom was worried about the food since someone had a negative comment about it. We tried the most popular items on the menu. It was so good and the staff is so accomodating.
