thanks-i hate doing everything at the last minute-my FMIL said it was to early to have them done and i asked her are you adding anyone else-- no then its ok cause my mom and i are done. sometimes but what can you do??

NO, it's not too early! I hate doing everything last minute too! I figure, get things done now, when I have the time to do them, rather than wait to the last minute, when school begins, FH has more business trips, and I need to be writing lessons plans and getting back into school again. So I've made a list and I've got a ton of things to get done this summer. I spent this weekend perfecting our monogram and getting all the envelopes ready to print, so once I proof them I can start printing. I just picked up direction cards and now I'm debating retyping the info with the OOT hotel info and printing that out as well. Haven't decided yet if it's too much trouble.

You're soooo right! It's amazing how many opinions and 'but you have to do it THIS WAY' I've gotten since the planning began!!

You know........You have to go HERE on your honeymoon. You have to have THESE flowers, THIS food, THAT music, etc. I keep thinking, YOU did what YOU wanted to do for your wedding, so I'M doing what I WANT to do for MINE! But of course, I say it in a NICE way. Then again, some women didn't get to choose what they wanted because their parents planned it out for them, so I think they're trying to make up for it by telling me what to do. So sometimes I'll just say, yes, yes, that sounds like a good idea, but I've already made plans to do it this way. Or, it's already been taken care of and paid for. And for certain people, I'll just change the subject altogether.... so, tell me, what's been going on with your kids/grandkids/new house/vacation/job, etc.

Wow, you're SOOOO tactful...I either roll my eyes and walk away or explain in a not so nice tone that I want to do it my way. This wedding business has made me much more edgy than before...

Oh, almost forgot...my invitations should be ready for pick-up soon!!!

Now all I need is to finalize the guest list and get some missing addresses, then work on direction cards, ceremony programs, table numbers and maybe menu cards (still need to get FH to 'approve' of menu cards)

I actually got reallly stressed yesterday for the first time during this planning process over hitting the 4 month mark and feeling BROKE!!!!
I worked both jobs and came home and FH looked at me and said hi,, gave me a kiss and hug and i cried!!
I think it must be working sooooo much and paying out soooooo much that is driving me insane! I feel much better today,, it just was weird,, i needed to cry i think.

I think it all depends on your budget and if its important to you. I saw gorgeous invitations I LOVE, but they would've cost close to $1000 for 125 invitations. To me thats a bit much. We narrowed it down to two we like and they range from 5-600.

I spent $500. for 175 invites my lady is awsome.

I have a question for you ladies. I am just sooooooo stressed out as well. IT seams like there is just so much to do. I am gathering my addresses for invites. NOw let me ask u this........

I too just started to cry yesturday I started grad school on top of working full time and left class at 10 pm last night and was soo lost on campus.... I started to cry its all so stressful!!!! sorry so long

I would not Calligrapher the B list.. I would wait and maybe make clear lables on the computer or have those few that you may send out done seperatley

It does seem like invitations are one of the biggest causes of stress for so many brides, partly because what you seem to love the most tends to be SUPER expensive.

I had never paid much attention to invitations until I started planning my wedding, but now that I've flipped through so many invitation books and searched so many invitation websites, I have a new-found appreciation for invitations and have paid a lot of attention to the ones I've received lately...I wonder how long this will last...

I think you are right. Since I was engaged all of a sudden I am noticing more and more details and such.

See, I think the opposite was for me. I look at the invitation once, make a comment on it, then throw it away after I write the date on my calendar. When I went looking for invites, I wanted something nice but planned on spending less than $450.

i got mine at invitationsbydawn.com- simple square with just the rsvp spent around 350.00 (we are getting married at the RH) i am going to put the direction card in for the guest along with a note for the hotel that i blocked our rooms at- that is it- only people who may keep the invite is our parents and i am going to save one for our scrap book. i know this may make some girls mad but its just paper- i have seen sooooooo many beautiful invite and they are sooooooo much money i just could use the money in other places-
