Its insane how people choose to see what they want to see. Another argument I have is the 'socialism' crap. You see all these people calling Obama a socialist at the McCain rallies (Among other hateful and ridiculous things) but they dont sit back and think 'HMMMM what did the government just do to bail out this huge corporation, oh they made a socialist move and took command of our money!) No because like Ive said a million and one times, socialism is not okay when its helping the little guy. Just the way the world works. Hypocritical in every way.
BTW,I just saw a video of what these people say at the McCain rallies and this one guy said women should pay DOUBLE for rape kits. Its insane.![]()
Pay double for rape kits-- InterestingI guess that's all a part of 'Country First' huh

If you want Ill FM you the video. But if you want to see it IM warning you, you will be infuriated by it. It almost ruined my whole day lol

Re: NWR: Who Will You Vote For?
I also wanted to add that I urge everyone to read the links I posted above. They give a LOT of great info about both candidates. Yes I am still undecided, but I learned a lot from reading those websites. My DH was set on who to vote for and he told me a couple days ago he went through those sites and is now thinking he will be changing his mind because of it combined with the debates.

Re: NWR: Who Will You Vote For?
I completely respect those who disagree.... but I am a proud supporter of John McCain for the following reasons:On foreign issues - McCain has the experience and respect and in particular truly understands the costs of going to war from his own torture during his tour of duty. Obama wanting to sit down without preconditions with the leader of Iran is ridiculous to me. We shouldn't allow someone who speaks of Israel as a stinking corpse to have carte blanche with the leader of the free world. Obama didn't know how to react to Russia invading Georgia. McCain blasted them immediately and stood up for the Democratic Georgia.
On domestic issues - McCain believes in lower taxes for everyone to help our economy grow. I believe this is the right thing. Obama's plan is pure socialism and it is not the way this country was built. We were raised to believe we could comehere with nothing, work our hearts out, get ahead and then most of us give back to our communities once we become successful - by choice. The government taking my money to give to others is not American. What incentive is there for anyone if when you do reach the higher levels of your career they take your money away from you? I prefer to give to the charities and causes I choose. Choice is American.
On certain womens issues, McCain has stated he is not looking to overturn Roe v Wade. He believes it is a state issue.
Background - it absolutely bothers me that Obama supports ACORN (who has been charged with voter fraud across this country and strongarming people into doing what they feel is right regardless of what others believe in), has relationships with a convicted American Terrorist (Ayers), and has so little experience in ever accomplishing anything in office. McCain served his country, was tortured and refused to be released from that torture early on because it wasn't the right thing to do, and has consistently fought for what he believes is right, many times working bipartisan with Democrats to accomplish good pieces of legislations. I may not always agree with all he's done. But I 100% agree he is the most experienced and best person for the job.
I hope all of you will vote. It's a crucial time in our country and you deserve a say in our future.
One final word, the press is totally biased. MSNBC is blatantly left, CNN and the major networks lean left and Fox leans right. Listen to all of their sides before choosing. Don't let them force you into siding one way. Do the research on your own. And weight both sides. We have two very different choices this year.

Im SURE it was some random person and not McCain. YOu have to be careful to separate those kind of insults from what the candidates are actually saying. McCain has spoken out against ppl who have said anti-Obama things at his rallies, even at the cost of angering rowdy ppl in his own crowds.

Re: NWR: Who Will You Vote For?
I think that is a great point about the 'bailout' - what I would respond to that is that I don't think anyone wants a bail out plan. However, the situation as it stands was not aimed to bailout fat cats on Wall Street. It was aimed at injecting money back into the banking system so banks will be able to lend money again to people like you and me for anyting from buying a home or a car or starting a new business or a line of credit if you are a small biz owner. A total panic was hitting banks and something needed to be done. If you listen to the economists and officials who are considered experts on this issue, overwhelming they all agreed a rescue plan was needed. If you look at the details of both sides, the goal is to prevent 'golden parachutes' for bigwigs going forward.I would point out....one of the reasons why we are in this mess in the first place, the Clinton administration, in attempt to help the lower classes, promoted Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to allow mortgages for those who in the past couldn't afford it. A noble idea perhaps - but not in common sense. Democrats encouraged it - banks got greedy because they felt the government was giving them a green light and the subprime mess was created. Millions bought houses they couldn't afford. And now we are all paying the price. A couple of years ago, Barney Frank (Dem) was saying good for Fannie and Freddie at a time when John MCCain was saying we needed to take a look at this stuff (both can be googled to see on video).
My position being - we are in this mess because of the Democrats, and it was exacerbated by Bush's billion dollar war in Iraq. So for someone who has voted for both a Democrat in the past and a Republican, in my view, with all this info, I believe John McCain is the right person.
As for Obama, an example of his being a Socialist occurred over the weekend where he was caught on video telling an Ohio plumber that he intends to take the profits of small-business owners and 'spread the wealth around' to those with lesser incomes.
From this morning's paper..
'The fracas over Obama's tax plan broke out Sunday outside Toledo when Joe Wurzelbacher approached the candidate.
Wurzelbacher said he planned to become the owner of a small plumbing business that will take in more than the $250,000 amount at which Obama plans to begin raising tax rates.
'Your new tax plan is going to tax me more, isn't it?' the blue-collar worker asked.
After Obama responded that it would, Wurzelbacher continued: 'I've worked hard . . . I work 10 to 12 hours a day and I'm buying this company and I'm going to continue working that way. I'm getting taxed more and more while fulfilling the American Dream.'
'It's not that I want to punish your success,' Obama told him. 'I want to make sure that everybody who is behind you, that they've got a chance for success, too.
Then, Obama explained his trickle-up theory of economics.
'My attitude is that if the economy's good for folks from the bottom up, it's gonna be good for everybody. I think when you spread the wealth around, it's good for everybody.'
I would point out - I'm not stating Socialism is bad or good - that's up to you to decide. But his view is a socialist one. For me personally. that is not the American way nor is it my belief.

I am Blessed to be making well over $100K and I don't PERSONALLY benefit too much from Obama-Biden's policies....But I believe that other little girls and boys in the ghetto's of this nation have the right to the same opportunities I did. I'm all for helping the working poor and anyone who wants to make a better life for their families. It's funny, people always complain about illegal immigrants....my parents were illegals and yes, they did not pay taxes. However, they raised 4 children who each earn and pay taxes on AT LEAST 3 times the average American salary.
See beyond yourself and see the bigger picture.
