What I dont get is, dont only people who WORK and file a tax return get economic stimulus? So immigrants are not entitled to a stimulus check even if they work and file taxes?

seriously why not let him into the debates. WEll bill maher had on him to speak about his issues. One thing i can say about nader is that he will sit there and tell you his plans step by step and discuss it fully. Plus i like that the man says he wont fly first class and flys coach, shows his character

but reading all the issues he stands for, i agree with alot of what he says. He is against corporate american, he has started non-profit organizations, he is for the environme, he is not for the rich and wants to help regular people. GO NADER

here is where he stands on all the issues. Maybe with just under 3 weeks i can push ppl to vote differently

If you read what i wrote it said 'illegal immigrants'
They dont have SS#'s and they DONT file taxes and YES he wants to give them stimulus checks
I did not get one. I made too much as a single person. My husband did get one. The answer is YES as of right now only people who WORK get them, however, Obama wants non-taxpayers to get them (i.e. people on welfare)

Re: NWR: Who Will You Vote For?

anyway, im done with this thread
It is too upsetting for me how people are so dazzled by hollywood and their opinions.
It is a very sad election year.

As I said in the other thread, when I was in my 20's, I too wanted to solve the world problems. But as Bride908 said, my parents WORKED for everything they had and to keep their house. They didnt take out 2nd and 3rd mortgages to buy televisions and go on lavish vacations. Now we have to pay for people that were living beyond their means. I dont want to 'redistribute my wealth'; especially to people that DONT WORK.

It has become too stressful for me -

Re: NWR: Who Will You Vote For?

Voting for Nader might be a good idea. I was just reading this article and found interesting points. Yes he wont win but they also feel that he effects the votes. They blame Nader for gore losing to bush bc they feel if it wasnt for Nader all those who voted for him would've voted for Gore. And in florida over 100,000 people voted for Nader which was larger than gap between bush and gore in florida.

Now they say that Nader will actually effect Mccains votes not Obama's

PLUS i like these comments people had. Maybe they can see that there are people out there who want different things, a different system

Nader, Barr and McKinney add richness and variety in choice for voters. They also bring up “inconvenient truths” that makes the corporate candidates address rather than dismiss.
If Nader/Barr/McKinney drain away voters from the two corporate parties, that’s there problem for turning their backs on their traditional voters. No political party has guaranteed rights to reelection or automatic incumbancy. Votes must be earned. Incumbancy tends to create laziness, corruption and entitlement at the expense of innovation, vigor, and integrity.
Choice and variety are the hallmarks of any legitimate democracy and all should be allowed to debate and duke it out. Let the best man or woman earn every vote if they can. Those that cannot do do not deserve to be elected.

Comment by PublicCitizen - July 24, 2008 at 6:41 pm
I think that there is going to be a departure from both parties to Nader for the following reasons: Nader doesn’t change his views from day to day. Nader has always been for the people and has never been a corporate pawn. Nader doesn’t run untrue attack ads. Nader doesn’t pander to special interest groups. All in all, Nader is the honest, stand up kind of candidate, even when a lot of people don’t want to hear the truth.

here is the whole article and comments

Re: NWR: Who Will You Vote For?

voting for nader would only be a 'good idea' as you say if you actually want obama to win

otherwise, they are votes that COULD go to McCain

its a thrown out vote

why? should i vote for someone i dont like then just to vote for them bc i feel it is the lesser of two evils? bc honestly thats what i would be doing, i dont like either and i would just be voting for someone i am not that happy about.

And its the same thing as telling republicans that voting in NY is pointless bc a democrat always wins presidential election, should they not vote then bc their candidate will lose. ANd its sad bc there are republicans who do feel that way and many who dont vote for this reason bc they feel their vote doesnt count.

Yes, i know he wouldn't win but then again it shows that there are people out there who guess what, are tired of the same type of candidates and everything being geared to only having to vote a certain way. There are those people out there who do want a president that is more for the people and not about big corporations, which sorry to say but either democrat or republican will always be this way no matter what anyone preaches. One thing i can say is that Nader is for the people, and he has plans on EVERY single issue you can think of and extensive plans and solutions, unlike other candidates. He is also very intelligent and has come up with brilliant economic plans and how to help the budget, and a long extensive plan that is very detailed, can we say either candidate has anything close to this? He stands strongly for all his issues and always has, didnt change his stand on certain issues just bc of a campaign.

Voting is a right, it is a privilige actually and dont think anyone can be told their vote is wrong or pointless. I am exercising my right and maybe my candidate won't win but should people only vote if they think their candidate is going to win, should only democrats vote in ny or california? Maybe in the future people will be more open minded and see that there are other options out there, there are other qualified people and sadly many people this election are not going to vote for a candidate they feel strongly about but just whomever they feel is the lesser of two evils, does this make it right? I will always stand behind my views no matter who else agrees with me or no matter the number of people who support the same views. You dont need a big following to agree with you to have views.

now i am undecided and not sure what to do, so threw out an option. I also did it to lighten the mood a bit. But if it were something i would do, it would at least be something that i stand by

Re: NWR: Who Will You Vote For?

I am sorry you feel that way. I understand not liking either one; but yes, it is better to pick the lesser of 2 evils, at least to try and stop one from getting in

every vote counts

It isnt rude to tell someone that choice of a candidate is worse than not voting? Um it is rude and judgmental.

But then again I'm a joke..coming from a person who can't discuss or inform on any of their candidates plans, policies etc. You are right I am a joke....LMAO
