I'm using a DOC....I hear that everything is very organized...but I mostly got one to make sure I have a stress free day as far as dealing with all the other vendors...and so I wouldnt have to be on the phone with anyone and have to direct anyone to go places/do things. Basically i'm putting the organization in another persons hands....I thought it was well worth the $$ to have someone you can order around =))))))))

hi ladies,

did/will any of you have uplighting in the glass room for the dancing portion?

Do you know how many color kinetics you have in your DJ package for that room?

Please help...We got an estimate for $1000 for just the lights. Is that alot?

I didn't use a DOC and encountered a terrible, terrible experience with my florist on my wedding day that the 2 maitre'ds at de Seversky handled for me. They were absolutley amazing and my saving grace that day. I knew that they were taking care of me and I didn't have to worry, instead I got to enjoy my day while they dealt with the stress. If you don't go the DOC route, atleast you know that Roger and Damien will go above and beyond to make sure your entire day runs smoothly

this is good to hear. i keep going back and forth as to whether i need a DOC. as of now, i don't plan to hire one. mostly bc i don't have time to find one and i wouldn't mind spending that money elsewhere.

also i'm not doing uplighting anywhere

Great to hear.. I hired a DOC, just to make sure everything else runs smoothly and so I won't have to stress anything! I have only met Damien and he seems wonderful!

I got uplighting for the main ballroom. We are getting 10-15 spotlights because I didn't want too much which would take away from the room. We got through our DJ and it was nowhere near that much.
I would price around that sounds like a lot of $

Agred - I didnt use a DOC either and EVERYONE at de Seversky went above and beyond - I felt like there was absolutely no reason for a DOC at all, as they had everything taken care of. I had 2 maitre d's...damian and roger - both who were fabulous and I could not write any more wonderful words about them. IMO - save your money - you totally dont need a DOC.

def the chivari chairs. i love them! but i'm doing european so i'll be using the upholstered chairs during teh dancing portion.


also, ladies, i went to my second tasting last night and YUM. it was ten times better than the first one which was good. but this was delicious! i am definitely doing the pasta station!!

and they served peach bellinis that will be flowing in the bridal suite

I am using the upholstered chairs, BUT i am getting chair covers so it doesnt matter eigther way.....i wanted the chivarli chairs but my parents werent crazy about them....and wanted to get chair covers 100%

I'm so undecided on the chairs!

you're so lucky! I want to go to a second tasting but I don't think I have time. We did our first/only tasting in June and it was awesome and we were stuffed. Would it be crazy to go to tastings after we've been married there already?! hehe

Im sorry I have been *** ... I couldnt find the thread! I am sorry to hear about your florist woes on 6/12 ... Future hubby and I were there earlier to view the set up and saw your cake but no florist. We were upset as we wanted to see the place all set up but then were informed as to what had happened.

Which chair is which? I am not sure what a chivalri chair or what not ha ha!

Is anyone doing any menu add ons? Or extending their reception?

Is anyone under their minimum? I probably will be and I'm wondering if they offer anything for having to pay for guests that won't be there. Meaning, would they throw in some extra stuff?

Id be happy to come ... :o) All kidding aside I am very sorry about you coming in under your minimum. I know when I spoke to Melissa I asked if we paid for 125 and 123 people showed could we get the 2 other meals wrapped up and she said no! I would hope they could throw something in but they may just make you pay the difference.

Let me know if I can be of any help! I emailed Melissa over the weekend but havent heard back yet!

I asked the same thing! I asked at the tasting before I ever thought I'd be under the minimum so maybe I jinxed myself... I don't understand why they can't wrap it up. That seems so simple to me. Maybe I'll give her call tomorrow and ask what she can throw in. I hate to ask because I feel like she'll say no to that too Or maybe I'll bring the kitchen some to-go boxes for them to use

She said it was a board of health issue but I went online and there isnt anything of that nature. She probably thinks I am a pain in the tushie! Just seems so wasteful. And I know with all the madness I wont even eat and I want to! LoL

Hey girls,

We were under our minimum by about 10 people and de Seversky was awesome about it. Eric helped us to pick another item to add to the night that was equal in value to those 10 meals - we added an additional chef attended station to the cocktail hour

GREAT NEWS! I'm so so relieved. Melissa was awesome and sweet and she threw in a seafood station since we didn't make our minimum.
