Re: THE OFFICIAL Watermill Thread
I had what was then (booked in 2003, wedding in 2005) called the Prestige menu. Cocktail hour was fully loaded and really good. We added to cocktail:Seafood boat
Martini bar
To our menu, we added a pasta course. We also had the Vienese trays, not the Vienese hour. Pics/info in my review!
As for cocktail, two big hits (aside from the boat; that was the biggest) were the paella (surprisingly good, and I'm Spanish so I'm picky about it) and the spanakopita. Our BM also threw in DH's favorite scotch, Glenlivet...if you ask them...they'll hook you up a bit. Mine even let me fax him our menu card to proof it...and he caught a mistake! The type of pasta was rigatoni, and I'd put penne or something!

Yet another Watermill bride!November 25, 2006
Astor Suite @7:30
I am going to add on to the basic menu...heard the surf & turf is awesome...along with some others. I am going to make the mini menus for each setting. I always liked that when I saw it at other people's wedding.
My guests are staying at the Hilton suites in Melville ($130 a night). We have a lot of people from Ireland staying there. It's nice b/c there is a living room/kitchen and 1 or 2 seperate bedrooms.
I am soooooo excited!

Re: THE OFFICIAL Watermill Thread
Holiday Inn is the only hotel that offers the shuttle. Thats the deal watermill has. I personally didnt like the hotel..it was neat and fine for a place to sleep but being a winter bride and i knew we may need our hotel as a back up plan for pics i knew holiday inn was no way big enough nor do they have nice grounds if we wanted to do pics outside (never know if we had a good day)so we booked the Hyatt at $116.00 a night....now im debating on getting a shuttle van....
just a note....call your limo comp bc u can get a van for much less than a bus! Or do what Melissa is rent and get a driver...which im sure is even more of a savings!!

Re: THE OFFICIAL Watermill Thread
does anyone know how many people can fit comfortable in the Astor Suite? we started off with about 100 guests, and our list is ballooning! i'm worried that if we have like 140, that it will be tight.i can't remember what the max # is !

thanks! we won't have NEARLY that many. thank goodness! i think we might wind up with about 130-140 attending at most. i just hate when they tell you the max amount, and that amount is with everyone on top of each other.

Re: THE OFFICIAL Watermill Thread
Hey Watermillies,I have a quick question. FFIL is concerned abt the liquor at Watermill. He went to a wedding recently and was disappointed that there was NOT top shelf liquor. I have the gourmet menu, and it does mention liquro - but is it top shelf?
Can all the guests ask for Vodka and Kettle One and all the expensive brand liquor.
TIA!

Hi! We had the Prestige menu and had all top shelf liquor. My husband's favorite scotch is the pricey stuff, Glenlivet. We asked and they gave it to us and no extra cost.
Also, do not put 200 in the Astor if you can help it. I had 164 people and I'd say that was full enough. We had 13 at one table and I won't lie, they were a little tight. I have no idea why they tell you 200....I know people do it, but that's really too much. So if you can help it...really keep it at 180 max, for your comfort and for your guests!
