Re: THE OFFICIAL Watermill Thread

Hey Everyone!

My date is coming up so quickly and I still have so many things to do. I really took too much time on everything.....I'm getting excited and nervous all at once.

I just recently made my appointment with my BM to do my menu. I don't want to mention names, but I don't think that my BM and I click. I feel like every time I speak to him he tells me what he wants me to hear and not what I ask him. Like for instance, I had asked him what is on the Gourmet Menu (I have the Prestige). His answer to me was that I have a very good price for the Prestige Menu and that the Gourmet is a minimum of $125 pp and if I wanted to add things on, I would be better off doing it al a carte. So I still don't know what is on the Gourmet Menu because he never told me. I didn't ask the price difference. I asked what was on the menu. This is not the only time that I have asked him a question and walked away not knowing the answer.

So I am wondering, would it be wrong for me to ask for another person to sit down with to do my menu. I just feel at this point I am uncomfortable.

Thanks.....

Also, any advice from those of you that have already done your menus or have had your weddings.......?

I'm sorry you are having this experience. When I did my menu I actualyl did not do it with my BM because he had another meeting at the same time. Perhaps you can do the same?

Re: THE OFFICIAL Watermill Thread

So I don't have to sit down with my BM??? Okay, that makes me feel better. Has anyone sat down with Christine? I heard that she is nice and very thorough.

By the way Katie, I saw your pics.....everything was beautiful. I liked your cake. Was that a choice or was it extra??

No, I don't think you 'have' to. I personally wanted to, but since they made special arrangements for us to come in on a weekend (we live out of state) we had to take who we got.

Thanks about the cake. It was yummy!!!! And it was an included one...I think called swiss dots?

Re: THE OFFICIAL Watermill Thread

When we did our menu, we didn't meet with our BM, not by choice or anything. I called to make the appointment and didn't even think to ask who we were meeting with! The guy we sat with was Jim - he was okay.

Re: THE OFFICIAL Watermill Thread

Hey Ladies! This is my first LIW post! I'm getting married on 7/14/2007 at the Watermill downstairs in the Vanderbuilt room! I can't wait!

I'm wondering if anyone has any pictures taken outside at the Watermill. I am a little tight on time between my church and cocktail hour and I am trying to decide if I should squeeze in pictures somewhere else or just go straight to the Watermill.

Any suggestions!
