Re: What is the rudest thing someone has said to you as you have been planning your wedding??
my fmil always makes comments about how she hates my dress.people, usually strangers or people who hardly know me, will say stuff like 'wow, you're too young to get married!' i might only be 21 (same as fh), but i've been with fh for 5 years now and we've lived together for 2, which to me is more important than age.
or 'you're getting married at an aquarium? oh, how nice'...but they don't really mean nice lol. some people get the impression that getting married at atlantis is cheap...its not. its a beautiful place and i feel like i have to justify it to people sometimes bc they've simply never heeard of such a thing!
oh and 'pretty ring, but I won't accept anything less than 2 cts.' whatever.

numerous people- why a Sunday night- NO ONE will come!
oh so can I cross you off then?
FSIL (on idea for favor) that's TACKY- (you all know how I hate that word!!)
many many others
oh, but the BEST are about my e-ring...
is that a sapphire...did you want that- NO idiot, my fh felt I was worthy of a diamond!![]()
![]()
some chik actually asked to see my ring, and then RIGHT after AND RIGHT in front of Me, said to her sister 'um, can I talk to you for a minute' I wanted to knock her OUT!
When FH and I were thinking at having a wedding on a sunday, my mom said the same thing. For a friday night, she said you know alot of people are going to miss the church because its on a friday night. Then when I finally picked my gown, her and my grandma were telling the seamstress that my stomach was to big for the gown as they kept grabbing and poking at it. I had to keep repeating myself by saying how the gown is not my size.

Re: What is the rudest thing someone has said to you as you have been planning your wedding??
Lately I have been getting a lot of, 'Is that all you do is plan your wedding?' Hello? Do people think these things PLAN THEMSELVES? I try to explain how incredibly far behind I am and people don't get it.
Also, from my OOT family I get a lot of 'I don't understand why there has to be so much food?' My response lately has been, 'Welcome to Long Island'.

I almost forgot: when we were first telling my parents we are having the wedding in NY, my mother made me cry at my celebration dinner by telling me no one would come!

One of my BM tried on the BM dress I was loving and said she thought it was cheap and made her feel like a robot. She also asked why they all have to wear the same dress?

I could go on all day. My FI bought a ring more gorgeous than I ever imagined. The lady that sold it tried getting him to buy a bigger center stone. (it's a 3-stone) He said 'no, she can't put her hand in her pocket with a bigger stone.' SO RIGHT! I am a beer and wings girl.
At pre-cana, the girls I talked to said they were a bit upset that they had problems putting their hands in their pockets with their rings.

Re: What is the rudest thing someone has said to you as you have been planning your wedding??
I forgot some more....When I told the bridal party at first that I wanted pale yellow, one of my BMs said 'yellow, ewww no, it reminds me of piss'
When I called my brother to announce our engagement: 'Well the wedding better not be around September, SIL's BF is getting married then and we're in the wedding.' I was shooting for October, but changed it out of courtesy. Wouldn't you know it, that her BF and his fiancee broke up anyway!!!

Re: What is the rudest thing someone has said to you as you have been planning your wedding??
Oh I have a coupleMy skanky coke head ex-boss who has been dying to get engaged:
'Well, you know weddings are really expensive, can you and your FI afford it?'
Me:
'I am going to start selling coke on the side'
Another ex co-worker told me that it was Dumb to have a mashed potato bar at the cocktail hour.
I told her don't worry you are going to be invited to my Dumb wedding
My FSIL said 'Light green is an ugly color for the BM's dresses.'
I said, 'well maybe on you.'
I am a really nice person, but I have ZERO tolerance for nasty people. Once a rude comment comes out, the gloves are off.

Re: What is the rudest thing someone has said to you as you have been planning your wedding??
WHen I got engaged a year and a half ago, many people asked why I am waiting so long.A person asked if I am having a DJ or a Band. When I told them DJ, they told me they hate DJ's, and band is so much better. Maybe they have 10K to shell out for a good band.
People always have to comment that they hate Sunday night weddings. Well, I didn't have the money for Saturday night, and alot of people B**** about Friday night as well.
You can't make everyone happy, that is what it comes down too!!

i have trouble with pockets, so i can't imagine anything bigger than mine, mine has 5 stones. i am always afraid it will get caught and make it loose! i think i should have my center stone lowered in attempt to stop my paranoia...~lacey
