Mostly I just have people annoying me by saying that we are spending too much. I just keep telling them that it is my business but it drives me crazy.

'you're having your wedding in July, all you're gonna do is sweat!'This came from the person who is now getting married at the end of july!

I have another story, my uncle is now dictating who should be siting at the first table.May I remind all of you that my parents are remarried and my step-monster does not like my mom.
Now why would I seat my mom and step-monster at the same table? Oh come on!!!!!

Just the other day there was a problem with my headpiece and it had to be sent back for the 3rd time and I was very upset and aggravated and the OWNER of the bridal salon told me 'There are people in this world dying and you are upset about a few stones in a headpiece!!'

I'll list a more recent one: 'You're marrying into the wrong family.' If that's the case FSIL, WHY the hell did you agree to be in the BP? *(&$(*#&$%*#@

My future father in law insists that we will come crying to him for money to help pay for the wedding because we have no idea how much money weddings are
He always says to us that we are in for a treat when we see how many bills we will have to pay once we move in together. Hes constantly telling us not to ask him for anything. Unbelievable. Hes bitter anyway. All he cares about is money.

your not having a BAND!
what about all of your older guests!
you mean my Grandma- she live- most people at our wedding are OUR friends- 35 and under!
ETS- I made up a rule early on- NO PAY- NO SAY!
Funny, I get the same thing but it says:
'You're not having a DJ?'
Most of OUR guests are 35 and OLDER and all of FH's friends are musicians that he played in the SU marching band with. We MUST have live music. It just goes to show you one thing:

A vendor had the nerve to tell me that my wedding sounded cheap and my budget was unrealistic!
I also had woman trying to sell me a dress tell me that if I got a dress for under $1000 my wedding would look cheap and no one would enjoy my wedding!

Re: What is the rudest thing someone has said to you as you have been planning your wedding??
Where to begin...My FFIL said he didn't know why we were planning things so far in advance and was confused when we booked the honeymoon (cruise) a year in advance. He suggested I use this last-minute cruise website instead to 'get a good deal!'
Mostly, I got the, 'You're not getting married for 2 years? C'mon, you don't want to wait that long, just do it next year.'
My FH has a good friend whose boyfriend I can't stand. When he found out that our wedding is at 11:30 am, he told me to make it later in the day becuase that was just too early for him.
FH actually got a stupid comment from work. His boss said that he should get honeymoon insurance in case we couldn't go on the honeymoon. When FH asked him why we wouldn't be able to go, he responded, 'Well what if we have an emergency at work?' ***!!!
I can go on and on. Usually I say, if you're not paying, then shut up.

Re: What is the rudest thing someone has said to you as you have been planning your wedding??
I hate the 'Why are you waiting so long?' questions... I dont think people understand how expensive weddings are now-a-days...Oh, and I hate 'You got your dress already!?!?! Why?!?!? You have so long.' Well, I fell in love with my dress early... does it really matter

people sometimes have no social skills and dont realize that although they shouldn't be saying something - they say it anyway!!!they are probably just jealous and miserable, so ignore them!!!!

Re: What is the rudest thing someone has said to you as you have been planning your wedding??
i got some doozies:1. That setting does your ring no justice, it is not sparklie (oh okay, it was custom made by a famous jewelery designer, I don't think she would put her name on it if it wasn't perfect.)
2. Why do you want to get married in December? Ewh.....
3. Only two bridesmaids, why? And they are wearing black...yuck, sounds like a funeral.
4. No sitdown dinner, mansion style, what is that? People want to eat. Um...hi, there will be more than enough food, it is just that it will be passed and at little stations throughout the mansion.
5. Thanks alot, I was thinking of getting married that day. hello....you don't even have a ring yet honey.
6. You are going to do something about that hair right? You can't get married with short hair. Really? why not? So stupid me I went out and spent mucho dinero on hair extension to test drive them. I hate them, so far I've cutten off 6 inches. I did two more this morning before I went to work, it is pretty much back to the way it was. What a waste, I 've had them less than a month :)
6.
