Re: Jewish Brides
It depends on your rabbi/officiant. I'm not getting married in a temple and my Rabbi, who is reform, requires that I wear a shawl over my shoulders. My dress is strapless too. It's just for the ceremony.

Re: Jewish Brides
My rabbi told me the veil was not enough, he is conservative. So I am having a wrap made for me out of the same material my dress is made from. My dress is off the shoulders.

Re: Jewish Brides
It really does depend on the Rabbi. My Rabbi is Traditional (he doesn't call himself Conservative or Orthodox, but I view him as more Orthodox), and I asked him, 'As far as modesty under the chuppah goes, is a long veil sufficient for covering my shoulders? (I didn't want to come straight out and ask 'can I wear a strapless gown?') His reply: 'Yuppers!' I was really, really surprised and happy.

Does anyone know a Rabbi (preferably in Suffolk) that can give conversion lessons. My fiance is converting but I can't find a Rabbi. They don't even call me back!!!! I want someone who can do it the quickest and easiest way possible. Thanks

That is a beautiful ketubah, not too much but just enough if you know what I mean!

Re: Jewish Brides
That's exactly what we thought, Sun. And it's a little hard to tell in the pic, but the lettering in the middle is in the shape of a Chai. So it's kind of a Chai in a Star. We fell in love with it when we saw it in person. My advice to anyone who may be reading this, try to see them in person first. Even if you can order cheaper online, see it first. 'Window shop'. The computer can't do them justice.

Re: Jewish Brides
Can anyone recommend a Rabbi?I will be getting married at Leonard's. I don't want someone too conservative and someone who is fun and conducts a 'more exciting' sermon.
Thanks!

Re: Jewish Brides
Girls,Have you seen a white lace shirt/bolero for sale anywhere? One that I can wear on top of my strapless dress for the ceremony?
I can't find anything, and really don't want to wear a wrap. My rabbi said veil and gloves are not enough.

Re: Jewish Brides
Thanks, 1017Bride.
Can anyone recommend a Rabbi?
Rabbi Allan Block. I've seen several weddings he did. He is a very personable man, never too boring. He is Reformed, leaning a little towards Conservative. I don't know what denomination you are looking for. FM me if you want more info to contact him.
