FYI - Called Fox Hollow today to ask about vendor meals. A band I was looking into said they would just prefer pizza instead of some big meal. So they said I couldn't bring in outside food like pizza BUT I could tell them to just eat at the cocktail hour and there would be no charge. Otherwise its 1/3 off.
REALLY?? I wonder if I can get my band to eat during the cocktail hour onlyI think they are going to be setting up then though. Thanks for the tip. They should totally allow you to bring in a pizza though.
I think most RH's have a policy about 'outside' food. There's a reason for it, but it escapes me at the moment...

Anyone know what the Fox Hollow will do / say if I have more guests than the amount allowed in a room??? I know that this is very unlikely. But I am inviting 170-172 and the room holds 156 plus Fh and I. (FH's parents added 25 people who 'will not come but have to get an invite.') What will they do? Will another table fit? Will it break all sorts of fire codes? Will they tell me to tell some of my guests they cannot come? (I can always put that on FH's parents I guess - 'You can invite them, but if they say yes, you will have to tell them they cannot come.'if they promise me they will not come and they DO, then it's on THEM to fix it, right?)
Anyone with info about room capacity please let me know - thanks!
are you in WGP? We invited 170 as well. And freaked a little on the number. But we ended up with 142. feel like 1-2 more tables in that room would have been fine. Def 1 more table could have fit with noooo problem!!! I think there was 13 tables. 13x12 is 156 then there was our table- so I dont think they counted the two of us. And one more table of 12 would not have made the room too crowded in my opinion- if it HAD to be done.

OH my gosh JBooth! It's like you are totally reading my mind (or my guest list I should say!) I am in the same situation! Too many invites & no one is doing any leg work to find out who exactly is planning on coming! I have MANY OOT relatives and we are doing the day after Thanksgiving so flights are not going to be cheap! So I've been trying to nicely push people to decide if they are coming or not! I've been stress free so far, although now thanks to this thread - it's been a while since I checked it - I found out no longer have Ron & now need direction cards! Can I ask you girls - did they contact you for the 4 month decision making? Or am I going to try and track down my new Ron? I love that I am getting married, it's just I've been sorta stress free & don't want to start stressing! We'll see I guess I'm getting my first try on today! YIKES!![]()
You will get your letter at about the 4 month mark. You will be instructed to call to make an appointment to discuss menu, cake, etc... You will not see your BM again, after you book... The BM wasn't even at our wedding, but the 'final day prep' guy was....and we LOVED him (Frank).
ETA: 'final day prep' guy is the person you make your final payment to, go over your last instructions with, etc....

You will definitely get a letter in the mail. Don't worry about Ron not being there. The BMs are really just for bookings, as far as I can tell, and the day-of. You'll have a BM at your wedding, making sure everything is running smoothly (timeline, etc) - I think a lot of the time it's Eric, the operations manager. I met with him once when my mother and I had a payment and had questions to ask. Seemed ok. But don't worrry about that, no one really talks to the same BM for the whole process. Good luck with your try-on!
I agree- dont worry about ron not being there. My BM left like 2 months after we booked. You can talk to any BM when u have questions and then like 3-4 months before the wedding you will meet with jenn or another person who will go over all the details with you and they become your contact. And if you still are not satisfied you can talk to Eric- the operations manager. He is very very helpful!!!!!!!!

Good to know - thanks Gina. Do you know, by any chance, what the Fox Hollow would do if you said you had 168 people??? (14 tables of 12) Would they allow it even?
I am really liking my idea of just having FH's parents deal with anyone who they invited who said was not going to come but RSVP yes (if we are over the limit).

Re: FOX HOLLOW BRIDES - Question & Answer Thread
Thanks so much for that usefull information! AT least something is going right today. No dress for me to try on today! They mistakenly called me to tell me my dress arrived & booked me to come in to try it on, but couldn't find it. because it hasn't arrived yet! It was my Mom's dress! Soooooo disappointed! And mad because I took the day off from work for this! Add icing on to my cake, I just looked out at my car & it got a ticket! UGH!!!
my inspection sticker expired! Today is so not working out for me! Anyone have some Calgon I can use to take me away?

Re: FOX HOLLOW BRIDES - Question & Answer Thread
Ok ladies, I need help, two questions:1) Do you think I need lighting? I am in the Briar Fox and about to book the dj. I don't want 'club' lighting or anything, but I was thinking about ONE color. Or are candles enough????
2) I want a photo booth. The girls at PWP said it would fit in the cocktail hour but when I spoke with the vendor, he thinks it should be in the reception. What do you ladies think???

I'm not sure about the lighting....maybe someone else in that room can chime in!
The photo booth...that's honestly a rough question... I think to be sure that everyone got a chance to do it - it'd be more well received in the reception room. Cocktail hour tends to be a flurry of food, hugs, chatting, etc....so it goes by quickly....(even as a wedding guest)...the reception is usually more laid back, let's look around the room, enjoy the atmosphere...
Just my two cents!

my reception was in the Briar Fox room and the lighting was PERFECT!! i too was worried at first that it would be dark.. but its perfect! i had candle CP's and it lit the room amazing! so intimate ! they do brighten the lights up a little when people are eating.. so no worries!
my guests complimented on that room saying it was gorgeous! and it really was!! best decision i made!

Re: FOX HOLLOW BRIDES - Question & Answer Thread
Ladies- just an idea. How about all of us that are already married, post a picture of the reception room all decorated for our weddings. So other girls can get ideas and see how the lighting was and the set up was. I think most photogrpahers get a shot of the room before everyone goes in.

This is the WGP set for 122 (I think). For the actual reception the lighting was lowered, but the photographer needed the lights turned up to take the picture.
