Do any of you know if we can write off the site fee as a tax deduction since it went to a non profit?

i would guess not because you can't take a charitable deduction on any 'donation' where you receive something in return. if you paid for a table at a benefit, the organization would send you a letter saying only $x of your donation is deductible bc the rest covers your meal and some entertainment.

I am no tax accountant....but I am definately going to ask my accountant about this....I would think you should be able to write off the site fee...its not a service you're getting....its simply a site fee that goes directly to the school. But I dont know...I've been trying to google this ever since I signed the contract. I asked Eric about it too and he said that he can't officially give me the answer but he did say that you can find this out online and do the appropriate thing....not sure what that means.

I was reading that it is deductible but we would need a statement from them saying what the 'donation' was for.

hey girls! i recently remembered that our contract said we needed to get certificates of insurance from each of our vendors. i haven't been asking my vendors if they're insured, so now i'm getting nervous.

do you know which vendors we need the certificates from? i'm guessing photog, videographer, bands, ceremony music...?
