Re: Official 2010 De Seversky Brides
So ... I was curious as to whether there were some add ons to the De Seversky menu. I saw the two options for the formal dinner, but wondered if they had 'to go' option at the end like some of the other venues have. Does anyone know?

So for those of you that are getting ready at a hotel....are you going to another venue to take pictures? or all your pictures will be taken at Seversky?

Re: Official 2010 De Seversky Brides
I went to look at the claremont and it would have been ok but both of the suites (not bridal suite) but the biggest rooms they have were not available on my weekend. So I had to start looking for a different place to stay. Ended up booking homewoods suites in Plainview because they have these huge 2 bedroom suites...HUGE! so I am going to get ready there. Btw the girl that cuts my hair in the city actually just went to a wedding at DeSeversky and when I mentioned to her that I am having mine there she said it was amazing and the food was great. Always good to hear positive reassurance!!

Lana - I def would start shopping around. We booked outs about 13 months before the wedding at the Claremont (but only so far in advance as we are getting married on Memorial Day weekend). Good luck!! btw - are you going to the tasting next week?

Re: Official 2010 De Seversky Brides
The problem with the hotels in the area is that there just isnt a lot of them, but there are a lot of people who need room blocks. Lana, I would definately make this a priority. Claremont only has 2 suites, and a handful of corner bridal suites so I was suprised myself that nothing was available. I've already looked at the other hotels on Eric's list and most of them are gross. Sorry. Claremont was ok...but i need a big room. So I had to go out east to LIE 48 to find a hotel. BTW marriott conference center near roosevelt mall is an option but they dont give suites away to brides not having their wedding there. Depends on your preferences.

We did our hotels block early for a couple of reasons - mainly FH works away a lot for his job (he is gone a total of about 6-7 months out of the yr - not in one chunk though thank god) and we wanted to get another check of the list while he was home. Plus, we knew our wedding was on a holiday weekend so we wanted to get the blocks taken care of asap as we have a ton of OOT guests. Plus - it didn't cost us anything to get the hotel blocks so it was an easy check of the list!
Nope - not going to the bridal show...going to the tasting so then we can hopefully finalize the menu in April
