Hi - I know that when I looked at halls I was always weary of the recommended vendors. Felt that it was more of a business relationship rather than being based on ability. If it helps, Imagine Studios wasn't a recommended vendor until after they shot my wedding. Lia had shot there before and they asked her afterwards. She sent some photos for them to put up. If anyone happens to see them, I'm curious to see what is up. HTH!

Can anyone suggest hotels that they have blocked out rooms. So far I've called East Norwich, and Best Western. Any others? we want to stay as close to $115 a night as possible. Also, do you know if any hotels offer free shuttles to de Seversky.... best western said it was too far.

No hotel I've looked at will offer shuttles...its something you have to pay for. Roselyn Clairmont is the closest hotel and even they won't accomodate with free shuttles...but can certainly arrange for one. I booked homewood suites in Melville, NY - about a 15 min ride to de seversky but my quote was 139 a night.

When I had my wedding there, almost 1 year ago, they did provide numbers. They were in gold wood frames. They will also print menus. We wound up using their menus but getting our table numbers through Documents and Designs They were tent style and we didn't put them in frames. We had an asian style theme and used chinese characters. No one commented on the lack of frames and a bunch of people took the table numbers home.

Yes - per Camroy - they do provide both table numbers and menus - I asked them about two weeks ago because those are two things I definitely didn't want to deal with DIY.

Hello, I'm getting married at the de Seversky Center September 18, 2010. I don't know if I'm using this post /forum correctly, but I wondered if anyone has any recommendations for a hair stylist in the area (Port Washington/Manhasset), or someone who would be willing to travel to the hotel (Roslyn Claremont)? I live in NYC so I'm not very familiar with the area. Thanks!

what a night ... i barely slept freaking out over the photographer! i know we still have time yet but i want to book both the photographer/videographer in the next month. i showed a girlfriend the photographer we were thinking of going with and she thought they were 'eh' ... thats the third person who has said as such! so i paniced despite having used them for my brother, sister and cousins wedding (mind you it was 10 years ago so photography has come a LONG way).

so i made an appointment at duet and imagine studios for saturday and need all the support and advice you girls can give! any of you ladies using them? if so can you give me a sense of pricing? number of photographers? traditional/photojournalistic?

I'm sorry you had a stressfull night. I have no experience with any of those studios, but can offer this advice...make sure you really LOVE your photographer....this is not a place to save the most $$...you can be reasonable...but its really an important choice. Photographer I absolutely loved were Blue Daisy Photography - FM me if you want pricing. She has a blog and her photographs are phenominal. For video - we simply loved Orange Films NY.
