Havent booked my florist yet - but my Mom is in a garden club and has a friend in the garden club who works in a florist - we are pretty sure we are going through her. I am already expecting the flowers to be insanely expensive bc Mom wants to 'wow' people with the flowers!

Oh - btw - was at De Seversky this past Saturday, and found out that we could use votive candles throughout the mansion and on the tables. I was soooooooo excited because originally Fh and I were told no candles when we booked b/c of their rules. But, the rules have been amended so now we can use votice candles! Woohoo! Wasnt sure if you girls were told this too and wanted to share the info...

I think that is what it was. I was told that so many people wanted candles at their weddings, so the president changed the rule. We just can't have anything other than votives (fire hazard) - which is fine by me!

No open flames is their rule of thumb but other than that you can put candles anywhere. Just as long as the candle is in a holder - hurricane, votive, etc. When in doubt, send a picture! Eric is great with that. Our florist had some different designs and one of them was questionable. We e-mailed it right over and got a response immediately from him.

I know there was a post awhile ago about them being too strict. They're actually pretty flexible. I was worried about a lot of things that I didn't have to be worried about.

I am not. I thought about it though. At this point, I can't justify spending any more $ ont his wedding. Ugh. Plus, I actually spoke w/ Melissa (my coordinator at de Seversky) about it - and she makes me totally comfortable about not having one. For peace of mind, I do that that it is a good idea, but, I don't think it is necessary for me...

Yes, I am using one. Mine is Gina from Bleu Diamond events. I just want the peace of mind and someone I can call when I have my freak outs. She has been great so far.

When i had emailed jen about setting up the apt to see the place she emailed me saying she was leaving and that shannon would be there now...it seemed like a standard email that would have been sent toall! i should have posted this but i figured everyone knew! sorry ladies!!!

'I thought of you this evening because I just finished up a wedding at de Seversky and wanted to let you know I am going to be uploading some pics to my face book during the week. the gardens were Gorgeous and the food and service amazing as usual!!!'

Yay! I always get excited when I hear good things. Just wanted to let you all know.

Hey Ladies! Hope your planning is going well! I had a DOC as well. Laura from LA Productions. Loved her! She did an incredible job. She is actually having an event tomorrow evening (August 18) @ 8pm at Fantasia Bridal in Rocky Point. I'm going to copy and paste the info from this site here. I'm going to go as a past bride. Today I became a future De Seversky Bride!!! I absolutely got the 'this is THE ONE' feeling and it was so great. It became official today and it just so happens to be one year to the BIG day. I'm working with Melissa and I hope she's great because I will probably be asking her tons of questions.
