OBTW..I'm Vanessa..32..we haven't even found the 'dream' RH yet..but once we do..the planning is on.

We decided to take a break for a few weeks from looking.

Where have you looked so far? Maybe we can help.

Douglaston Manor~loved it but I didn't think we were getting that much for our $$

Ariana Waterfall ~ nice room, great amount of food, all inclusive but it is right next to an IHOP

A Place in Queens that didn't have sit down and everything was extra

Westbury Manor ~ loved it only downside, we are having a small wedding probably 75-100 so they showed us the small room which we thought would be a tight squeeze on the dance floor plus the bridal suite was super tiny. We want to go back to look at the next size room

We also want to look at Jericho Terrace but I am trying to find some prices. We wanted May 2010 but I think we are gonna push it til April or May 2011.

So any help of suggestions would be great. We don't want to spend a ton of money on the place.

If you're willing to go off-season, some RHs are more willing to work with you on the price per person and minimum head counts.

I was at a wedding a few years ago at Chateau La Mer that was about the size that you're planning. The room was beautiful and the food was very good.

I've also been to weddings at Sand Castle, which were beautiful.

I've also heard good things about Swan Club, but I've never been there.

I've looked Majestic Gardens and went to a wedding there. I thought the place was beautiful and was in love with the marble dance floor. Until I remember that most woman do not mark up the bottom of their shoes before wearing them. At least the people i know. I thought the food was very good.

Edit for spelling

Re: Official 30+ Brides (previously 40+ thread)

I don't know yet what I'm doing for a bachelorette party. I'm thinking something low-key like a spa day or gourmet cooking class. I wasn't into club hopping in my single days, so I don't really feel the need to do it now.

For my sister's bachelorette a few months ago, I hired DJ Chef, which was a lot of fun. It was like having the best club in your own living room!

Re: Official 30+ Brides (previously 40+ thread)

I'm having a bachlorette...probably out to eat & then some sort of lounge with drinks and music.

Might meet up with FH, not sure yet.

Def no strippers neither of us are into that
