Re: Official 40+ Brides

I think you are right, on the 2010 brides we had ask them to join the thread and one stated she was 40, but it was for anyone over 35.

Just somthing to think about.

Yes how is she? How is FH?
I love the idea of asking liweddings if we can change the name to 'over 30'. I agree with Renay that I don't want this one to die. Celia do you want to write to them?

Good, we are waiting on you. :

As for my FMIL, she is better, but there is a set back. She was told she would have to go in rehab for therapy and then come back to the hospital for the plastic surgery. SO she is staying in the hospital to do the surgery and then going to therapy. SO she won't be be back home until sometime in May. So all appointments are on hold until then. I will be at our gtg no matter what.

Re: Official 30+ Brides (previously 40+ thread)

Hi- Welcome Jen and Megan

I see that you both are getting married this year. Are you guys doing anything different than the 20+ brides?
We have noticed that as older brides some things dont mean as much to us.
For example- I am not doing the Bouquet/garter toss- not wearing a veil- no mother/son-father/daughter dance

Thank you! How's your planning coming along? I'm guessing well because you seem to have all of your vendors booked! I still have to decide on a florist.

Re: Official 30+ Brides (previously 40+ thread)

Welcome Megan and Jen!!!!!! I'm Kirsten, I got married last summer and I'm 41 now. Like Celia said above, we love to hear about everyone's planning but find that we are doing/did things a little differently than some of the younger brides here.
I also didn't do a garter/bo-k toss...my 'thing' with my wedding was that the food had to be fab lol

Hi Kirsten!

I agree about the garter/bo-k toss. I'm going to do an anniversary dance, instead of the bo-k toss. In an odd coincidence, at their weddings, my parents and FH's parents had the same song as their first dance. So we'll use that song for the anniversary dance.

No garter toss, at all. I don't need FH digging around under my dress in front of our friend and families!

I feel the same way about the garter. Noone needs to see that at my age.
Also the only single guys would be my brother and my 5 yr old nephew. Might as well just hand it to my brother.

That's funny!

What do you think of the trend of having the photographer take the 'seductive bride' shots? Firstly, I don't think I could pull that look off -- you know, give a sultry look to the camera. I'd be laughing too hard. I'd also be mortified for my grandmother to see those pics when I get my proofs!

Re: Official 30+ Brides (previously 40+ thread)

Hey everyone....I am a barley 30+ bride but i am one nonetheless.

The garter toss is out. I dont think there will be any single guys there anyway. The bouqet toss has been xxxed out also. The anniversary dance is a nice idea. How exactly does it work...you ask all of the couples that have been together for a certain number of years to come up?
