Re: antuns/diwan
I think my worst experience was with antuns (hicksville) where we had our engagement party. They delayed the cocktail hour by an hour and a half claiming to have 'misunderstood'. We had the timings specifically outlined in the contract. They made guests pay for drinks even though we had 'open bar'It was really embarrasing because guests started to complain. My family finally had to yell at the manager to bring the food out.
Try to avoid dealing with Mac. didnt like our experience with him.

sunny9280m - Thats so weird because i've had only great experiences with Antuns so far. I've been there atleast 6 or 7 times for different occasions, and the food has always been good, and I've never heard of any complaints against them.
Thats the reason I decided to have my engagement party there (in march)!
But its always good to hear negative feedback from brides about your vendors.
I'll make sure MAC doesn't screw me over!.

Do you just need a drop off/pick up service, or do you want the limo to wait for 3 hours or so?
Drop off/pick up service might be a little cheaper.
I'm using AJ Limos in Queens/LI area... I got the best rate from them.

I got my whole package for $1k even. (including a really nice runner).
We're having 1 suv limo at FH house in the morning, 1- 14 passenger limo at my house, dropping us off at CHCC..
then picking us up in 1 big suv after the wedding, dropping us to one location.
AJs limo 718-506-0442. Ask for Andy.
This is the best rate you'll get for this package. A friend of mine called/visited bunch of different companies, nothing cheaper than $1k.

Indian groom quits wedding midway for lack of dowrySun Feb 5, 5:04 PM ET
Police in eastern India are hunting a groom who quit his marriage ceremony midway when his bride's parents said they could not meet his dowry demand of a motorcycle, an official said.
Rajiv Shaw, 31, walked out of the ceremony at Chitpur on the outskirts of the West Bengal state capital of Calcutta Saturday after springing the surprise demand, police official Sheikh Abdul Rajjack said.
The bride's mother, Urmila Devi, said her daughter's marriage with Shaw, an autorickshaw driver, was fixed last November.
She had handed over 65,000 rupees (1,480 dollars) in cash besides furniture, kitchen utensils and gold ornaments as a dowry.
'Rajiv demanded a motorcycle on the day of marriage,' Devi said.
'My husband is an employee in a local electric shop. We have sold out everything to get our daughter married. It's beyond our reach to give him a motorcycle,' she told AFP.
Police were on the lookout for Shaw after arresting his father and the matchmaker who arranged the wedding on charges of seeking dowry, Rajjack said.
Although the demanding and giving of a dowry was officially banned in 1961, the practice continues.
Every year, about 6,000 women are killed in India -- often doused with kerosene and set on fire in staged kitchen 'accidents' -- or harassed into suicide by husbands and in-laws angered by unmet dowry demands.

Try Denise-Angel Eyes, she did my makeup and I loved it. Maybe you could just have the artist you had the trial with change whatever you didnt like about the eyes, if thats the only thing you werent happy with? Sorry I dont know any desi makeup artists.

I did a trial with Sada. She did a great job with my makeup however I was not too impressed with my hair trial. I don't think she is used to dealing with llong hair.
