I thought about doing this too, but didnt get around to it..I think you can make it yourself..just buy indianish fabric and glue it on w/ the glue gun you can get at Michaels/AC Moore. Im sure it'll come out fine! Its a great idea though! you may want to check ebay too, you'd be surprised at the stuff you can find on there!

Congratulations! Everything looked beautiful. I'm new to this site so I hope you don't mind me asking a question. We're considering using Sitar as our caterer, do you have any suggestions?

Re: OFFICIAL Indian 'Desi' Wedding Thread
hey all,i'm also done with the wedding excitement- and it was all great. will post some pics when i get them... still sorting! in any case we were very pleased with SITAR's service. honestly we didn't even KNOW when they came and set up- and everyone RAVED about the food-we had some but truthfully because of the adrenaline, we weren't hungry- but what i did eat was very good. and people we know are still talking about it (even the italian food we picked for our menu) ... so basically yeah we had indian and italian food and it was all yummy :)
rajiv is also pretty easy to work with!
anyhow, i did find a couple of good pictures i have. But it's telling me the files are TOO big- how did you guys end up posting yours? HELP!
i really need to post one with my bouquet-it was GORGEOUS-the garlands were also done by my florist (garden gate in syosset). they did a great job with all the flowers...amazing beyond my wildest imagination!
for those of you who were wondering we had a blended Hindu/Indian/Unitarian ceremony presided over by a Pandit and Unitarian Minister.

Congrats on your wedding! I can't wait to see pics. I'm so excited to read your post, I want to have Indian and Italian food since my fiance is Pakistani and I'm Italian. When I spoke with them, they told me they'd do both but we weren't sure how it would be. Could you tell me how you incorporated the Italian food? I'm thinking of doing food stations like he suggested.

Hey All-I also had my wedding on 07/16! Congrats! Your wedding looked fabulous!
I had a question about Sitar. Did you have any problems with the amount of food served at the wedding.
Towards the end, my guests advised they had run out of food! It's so embarrassing and Payal, Rajiv's wife was not apologetic or anything. All she said was 'that's it'!
I just wanted to know if anyone else had that problem before I recommend or let anyone go to SItar for their wedding
Here's a few photos from our wedding. They're a little dark, but you can get the idea.

Re: OFFICIAL Indian 'Desi' Wedding Thread
Well regarding Sitar, they are pretty as good as it gets on Long Island imo. You have Antuns, Sterling, and some others as options. We had this concern about the food running out so we had ordered food for 10 extra people and we had an extra table in the back just in case. With 300 people you never know if someone will show up with someone they did not RSVP. We had a handful of people who no-showed as well. So we didn't run out of food. At least Payal showed up at your wedding. Rajiv wasn't even there! I didn't even see a person from Sitar. It was all Hilton staff. We had no issues catering related however. I am still getting lots of raves on the food.
Thanks for sharing your pictures, shujanashanto. I can't wait to see your pictures nutmeg! So we had three desi brides that weekend. Way cool!!
e.t.a. shujanashanto - i just saw your reception pictures, your jewelry is absolutely beautiful!
