Sorry I havent heard of her, I have some family in NJ so I'll ask them. But Im sure some artists in New York / Westchester would be willing to travel, which part of NJ is she in?

Re: OFFICIAL Indian 'Desi' Wedding Thread
I know an Indian makeup artist on LI, whose supposed to be very good..she actually works for a salon in the city, I forget the name. But she does Indian brides on the weekends. She charges $700 for the whole day, is that more than your friend wants to spend? Let me know, I'll find the # for you.

Hi! For those of you who are still looking for an Indian wedding sari or lengha, you should check out Benzer. The store is in Bombay but you can order the clothes online. I have two Benzer outfits and they're beautiful! The quality is amazing as well.http://www.benzerworld.com/collection2005/Home.asp

Ebay is a cheap source. But if you want to see/feel the fabric, your best option is Jackson Heights. Also, there are plenty of stores in Hicksville you can check out as well. But Jackson Heights is another 30 minutes away from Hicksville and the better option.
You can also head down to Edison, NJ. But its a bit further. And as Leena mentioned please bargain.

My wedding is in 5 days-AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!My videographer is not Indian so I will need to provide him with 4-5 songs for the different segments of the video. Anyone have any recommendation for Hindi favorites for 'Childhood Pictures Montage' 'Getting Ready' ,'Meeting at the Arch (for when you throw the garlands on each other)', 'Getting Married', 'Cocktail Hour' 'Reception', 'Saying Goodbye to All', and for the 'Highlights Recap'? I really appreciate it!
