i feel like i haven't been on this site in ages! since school started (i teach 3rd grade), i'm consumed with work and don't have much time to chat. but, that said ... here's my update!
boy i'm so far behind you gals ... we're still looking at photographers and djs! but the reception and church are booked. but more importantly, i found my dress and it's definitely the dress of my dreams!
i, too, am thinking of deep red/wine for bridesmaid dresses and i'm trying to throw silver into the mix somehow. my bridesmaids are all different shapes and sizes so i'm considering separates and letting them choose the best look for them. we'll see how it goes.
where arey ou having your reception??
at the watermill ... i can't wait!

All of our vendors are booked. We just purchased our favors yesterday. This weekend I am going dress shopping again. We are also looking to book our HM and purchase our rings soon so we can start to pay those things off. Good luck!

sorry i haven't been around ... life is just crazy, especially now that it's our year!! (i guess being a teacher doesn't help matters either!) and i can't believe that i'm not even close to where i thought i'd be come the new year. where does the time go?
anywho ... to answer your question, we're getting married in the afternoon at the watermill. i haven't seen too many couples getting married on 12/8 so far. i'm still looking at photographers and djs, too. but most importantly, i ordered my dress!! now to work on the bridesmaids dresses!
we also just signed up to go to the showcase at the watermill on the 30th (since i heard that they don't do food tastings ... my banquet manager suggested we go).

Wow choosing December must be a teacher thing! We both work in schools also....And I wanted to be able to go on a HM right away...so we are going on ours over the break instead of waiting for summer...I feel like Dec is going to be here before we know it!

I'm so glad you found it! I had looked but didn't see anything! We are really behind you guys. We only got engaged on New Years, so seems like we are a good 6 months behind. We just booked (signed the contract today, actually) so now we have to hurry up and do STDs and I have to go out and actually dress shop!

You are getting married a day before my bday

Sooo excited for this thread...I think there are only a handful of us!
I chose December because I love Christmas time! I had orginally thought about a fall wedding, but it couldn't be done with my and FH's schedules.

Thanks!
We looked at 14 places in total and we just kept coming back to Danfords. We loved the Estate at East Wind, but we just couldn't meet their minimums (it is also one heck of a hike from the church in Centerport!). So we'll get what we want and Danfords: the water, the hotel on site, and a ton of food at a great price. We are just so happy to be booked! Welcome New Vendors
