I'm a december bride too - 12/29/07 - not sure if I ever updated the profile. I'm not on here too often, clearly... so I'm tyring to catch up. We picked December b/c my fiance is in school and I didn't want a hot day, b/c the last thing I would want to do is sweat on my wedding day.

My invitations just came in picking them up this weekend we ordered them from party city. I will send them out the end of the month w/ a response date of 11/15.

Getting married at the deSeversky Center. I just booked my florist this past weekend. Next is the cake since deSeversky does not provide us w/ the wedding cake. My dress is in, but I am not going until the last week of October - do you think that's too late. I keep trying to lose more weight before the fitting.

Where is everyone going on their honeymoon? We are going to Nevis in the Caribbean

Yay I have a date twin!!

I think I'm about to freak out about invites...FH wanted to purchase them through a friend at work, whose wife works for Carlson Craft. I have emailed her twice and nothing! I need to have these ordered ASAP as I would like to send them out in the beginning of October!

Don't freak about the invitations - worst case go to Party City - they sell carson craft at 30% off and the invitations come in in 2 weeks!!!

i got mine from davids bridal,.....and i loved them!!! it only took about 2 weeks to get!!

I just picked up my invitations from Party City - they came out great! I'm very excited - does anyone know of an inexpensive calligrapher??

I'm doing the addressing myself - you cn do it on the computer pretty nicely!

I agree! Im doing mine on the comp too... I dont want to spend more money on a calligrapher! They come out great on the Comp!

Update on my invites...we met with the woman on Saturday, the 8th and we ordered them! I cannot wait to see the proof!

the invites were delivered to my parents earlier this week and they are bringing down a couple of sets when they come to visit this weekend. I cannot wait to see them. My mother is doing all of the envelopes by hand, so she's started on that already. we hope to have them out by the end of next week (that's the goal at least).

the big things I need to do this week is really just sign the contracts for the dj and florist. we are coming back up to the island next weekend and are going to nail down the tuxes, limos and meet with our bakery to go over the cake.

lots to do still.

Debbie, per your question about centerpieces, our hall is giving us glass hurricane lanterns with tapered candles for each table. we are thinking of doing a DIY wreath for the base of each lantern. we have grape vines that are taking over my parent's garden in the back, so we are going to form wreathes out of those, and then after they are dry, glue or with picks fasten pine cones, sea shells and maybe fake berries to the wreathes. If this doesn't work we may just put some tea lights on the table and spread rose petals instead. we aren't paying for the florist to do the centerpieces. just too much money.

we haven't decided yet on place cards, though i am tempted to buy a ton of English Christmas crackers and afix cards to them and have that as the placecards.

let's see, what else....oh and we have to buy the activity stuff for the kids. we're getting really cute beanie hats for them all that look like crabs and have claws coming off the top with googly eyes (we've got a pseudo-nautical theme emerging).

hi girls!!!!!! we are goin to send out our invites hopefully by the end of next week.

debbie... as far as CP ideas... im doing the whole xmas theme, and im DIY also.. im getting a wreath and decorating it with some silk poinsettas, (keeping it simple) and putting the round glass mirrior in the middle with a floating candle bowl.. and the floaters will be either some snowflakes, hearts, roses, or poinsettas.. im so excited, i cant wait for the xmas stuff to come out in the stores!! thats when ill go crazy!!!

it's definitely getting close. where has the time gone?

well, we're doing a snowflake theme. we're having a florist do our centerpieces, but are supplying her with the hurricane lamps and candles (to drop the cost). the candles will be surrounded by red and white roses and carnations, evergreens, berries, pine cones and some babies breath (and some snowflake ribbon or silver snowflakes). i had originally wanted to do just pointsettias and candles on the tables, but FH didn't like that idea.

i'm getting them next week and they'll already be assembled and addressed. since my rsvp date is november 1, i will probably either send them out between next weekend and the last weekend in september. all depends on when i can get to the post office to buy stamps, then number my rsvp cards, and finally put them in the mail.

We are doing these as our CP's...only larger than what is shown here...with votives on the tables.
Not going overboard on the xmas theme since our hall is overly decorated as it is.

I am sending my invitations out at the end of the month to give my guests time. It is always hard for some people around the holiday. I am also waiting for Michaels to bring their xmas stuff out. I am attempting to do my own centerpieces as well. Everything is set except for my dress and bridesmaid dresses. They should all be in by mid Oct. I am so excited....

i think some of us wrote some ideas, just look on the last page but more towards the top.
