Re: * * * * * * The Official DECEMBER 2007 BRIDE Thread!!! * * * * * * It's getting close!

I decided to handwrite my own envelopes, I practiced a few last night, and surprisingly they came out better than I had hoped. I'm now thinking this may be a good part -time gig for me... we'll see after I write out 100+ inner & outer envelopes plus table cards, lol.

Speaking of which .... ideas, I was either going to go w/ a plain table card OR get little gift boxes, put chocolate truffles in the box & make gift tags w/ the names & table numbers on the gift tags, we'll see how much energy I have to do it by then.

Also our centerpieces will be low-leveled vendela roses which are creme in color and some holly interspersed in between & some white berry branches. the place doesn't allow candles so I'm looking into those fake battery ones to put w/ some frosted amber glass votives - still haven't found those yet.

I got the battry operated candles at Michael's... I think they were 6 for $5.00 or somewhere along those lines... just be careful because they come in an orangey light or a white light, the white ones look more realistic... the ones I got even flicker!

Re: * * * * * * The Official DECEMBER 2007 BRIDE Thread!!! * * * * * * It's getting close!

Does anyone know of things to do on Long Island that are uniquely winter activities?

We are sending out separate invitations to events for out-of-towners and decided it would be better to include a list of things to do on Long Island in that than in the Welcome baskets so the guests can plan ahead. I tried to think of things I've done on Long Island with my fiance (he's not from there and neither of us live on the island now...so there are limited options) and most of what I came up with were things you wouldn't want to do in December weather. Since our wedding is in the afternoon, my mom has already chartered a bus to take all of the out of town guests into the city to see the tree and whatnot, so we have NYC covered, but I feel like I should add more for Long Island

The Big Duck should be decorated. There may be house tours in certain areas. I would check with your town arts council and see if they have anything planned for your week. There could be concerts, plays, etc going on.

So what is everybody doing about staying warm? I think I'm going to get a faux fur shrug. I tried it on at David's, and I felt it was very glamorous.

and yes, i still have no clue of how i'm keeping warm (at a reasonable price, for that matter!) since i swear that i'm cold-blooded because i'm always cold. so, the search continues ... although the girls gave some great suggestions on that thread that i'm looking into!

no worries deanna! i still have yet to do either. i'm hopefully getting my headpiece on sunday so then i'll be able to schedule my hair trial. and we also had to reschedule our epics so we're still waiting for that.

i had my first fitting a few weeks ago, but needed to return my shoes and get higher ones. i go back for fitting # 2 on november 6th. and, my brother's girlfriend is doing a make-up trial on me on sunday.

i just wish i'd get more rsvps coming in!!!
