I think they just bring the stuff in the room upstairs, downstairs they open up the small room and combine the two rooms together so I am happy about that because we wanted the reception downstairs because of the patio.

hmmmm. should i change the rooms b/c of the viennese hour- right now i have reception upstairs - cocktail hour downstairs- how many people are u having????

Re: The first official Venetian Yacht Club aka VYC thread...

I am not doing the VH...but this was my decision on having reception upstairs and CH downstairs.

I thought at least (my time of year) people could go outside for CH when there was still sunlight, as we go upstairs the sun will be setting and I thought it would be a better view. JMO

Re: The first official Venetian Yacht Club aka VYC thread...

I do not know where they do the VH upstairs, we are just having a cigar roller and so at the reception if people wanted to smoke its right there and I loved the combination of rooms. The upstairs room is gorgeous, I do not like the access outside from upstairs, but all in all it is the better room. We are just outside people. I do not know how they do the VH upstairs, do they give you an extra hour?

Re: The first official Venetian Yacht Club aka VYC thread...

I'm having the CH down stairs and the reception and VH upstairs. That side room downstairs is a great place to have the VH but I'm not changing

If I remember correctly, there is a pretty large area off the left side (left side if you are standing look towards the water) that Bill said they can set up the VH in. It's part of the room but just off to the side. It was important to us that the party wasn't stopped for the last hour for the VH. I want that band to play to the very last minute

Thanks so much for posting Laura!!! Now I am REALLY hungry and craving chicken at 10:45 in the morning

Now I'm torn bc I am so set on the Chillean Sea Bass. We have our tasting in January so we'll see what happens.

Our reception is in the upstairs room too. I really love it. Glad everything went well.

Re: The first official Venetian Yacht Club aka VYC thread...

Does anyone know, if you are having the ceremony at the VYC, do your guest get drinks or appetizers before the Ceremony since they want them there 1/2hr earlier?

I have a later wedding, but Bill told me there would be a champagne reception in the downstairs side room prior to the ceremony.
