I was actually at a wedding there this past Sunday. It was amazing and the food was great. I'll post pics soon!

HI WEEKEND TWIN!!!! I'm getting married the day before you! Who is your florist?

Re: The first official Venetian Yacht Club aka VYC thread...

What do you guys think about my 2 options for flowers. I love Calla lillies, in my album, I have a pic of calla lilies CP and I love it, my first choice for flowers I wanted magic red roses as the CP , but way 2 expensive. I have a friend who got me a good deal from a friend of his who owns a florist, Flower Barn. I can get the roses on a gold high stand with 3 votive candles . I am having the Reception in the downstairs room. I like flowers by brian, I am paying more, but not what I originally wanted, but I feel that they will not let me down with there work. The other place, I get what I originally wanted what I have invisioned from the begining, but I feel like I might not be happy with them, I am just not sure. Please help me

Re: The first official Venetian Yacht Club aka VYC thread...

I know that a couple of you were thinking about doing sand dollar place cards so here's my first attempt at creating them.

I can't find anything that will write directly on the sand dollar nicely, so I just decided to print out the placecards and tie them on with a ribbon. My step-father is making me a little sand box to display them in.

Did you search for reviews about Flower Barn? If they haven't gotten a lot of negative feedback then I'd go with them. Why not get exactly what you want for a price you want to pay?

I guess I am just a little scared because I want it to be perfect. I know, I am going to book with FlowerBarn. I did get good reviews from past brides. I really did like them, I just want it to be an amazing wedding. I want everyone to look back and say everything was beautiful.

Re: The first official Venetian Yacht Club aka VYC thread...

I thought about doing that but I do not think it is going to go with my color scheme. I think its a great idea and think it will be so cute because of the location of the venitian. Good job Laura

Irene - aren't you the one going with the red from the downstairs room? I think it would look just as nice with a red ribbon! (Just saying - if you REALLY liked the idea)

Re: The first official Venetian Yacht Club aka VYC thread...

Just got back from my food tasting!!!!! It was me, FH, my parent and his parents. Everything was soooooooo good!! we had some hot and cold hor d' oeuvres and some entree's heres what we tasted: cold-smoked salmon tartar, prosicutto wrapped asparagus, smoked trout, caviar pomme de terre, hot-chicken sate, cozy shrimp, spanakopita, miniature beef wellington, scallops in bacon, mini-crab cakes, risotto croquettes and artichoke hearts (mmmm everything was delish). The entree's we tried were the chilean sea bass, glazed atlantic salmon, filet mignon and chicken toscana. The food was soooo good!!! everyone agreed that the salmon was the best they ever had and FFIL and my dad agreed that the filet mignon was the biggest peice of meat they ever recieved as wedding food!!!!!!!!!!
The food was really great and Bill was really great showing our parents around the place (neither of our parents have been since the renovations have been completed) He is so funny, he's like my mom's new best friend ( lol )!!!

Re: The first official Venetian Yacht Club aka VYC thread...

FYI:

Hey gals! I saw a post a few days ago about CH centerpieces that made me think..so I emailed Bill.

I asked him if they provide anything on the CH tables. I was thinking of just a votive on each table and maybe some rose petals. Bill said that they will have a votive on each table, but if I wanted rose petals I would have to provide them.

Bye for now my beautiful ladies!
