Re: The first official Venetian Yacht Club aka VYC thread...

I got married on a Friday at the VYC and we took all of our pictures there. My church was at 4:30pm and we did pictures there on the grounds. The beauty of a Friday wedding is there are no day brides & you can arrive anytime. We got there around 6pm - took pictures on the deck. My photographer said that the waterview of the VYC is better than going to Argyle Park - that was his opinion. My pics were great! PS - I was the only bride that particular Friday & we used all 3 rooms. We had the entire place to ourselves

Good Luck VYC Brides

Re: The first official Venetian Yacht Club aka VYC thread...

I had my tasting on Saturday and it was amazing!! You girls will definitely not be disappointed with the food.

Bill took us on a tour of the place and showed us all of the new changes that have been made. Then we got to see the setup for the CH that was going on in the downstairs room. The bride also had the seafood boat and it was such a pretty display.

When we sat down to eat they brought out a selection of the passed appetizers. My favorite was the wrapped shrimp and my father loved the mini beef wellingtons. Then they brought out three different entrees. We had chicken toscana, the salmon and the filet. We were originally going to get the Mahi Mahi, but after trying the salmon we decided that we had to have it instead. The chicken was also great, it was so moist and flavorful. I really don' t like steak, but I tried a bite of the filet and it wasn't that bad. My parents said it was excellent so you'll have to take their word for it.

Plus, we were able to change our reception room to upstairs. I'm so happy with the way that room turned out. It really is beautiful. Bill said that we'll be the only event that night too.

Re: The first official Venetian Yacht Club aka VYC thread...

Thanks so much for posting Laura!!! Now I am REALLY hungry and craving chicken at 10:45 in the morning

Now I'm torn bc I am so set on the Chillean Sea Bass. We have our tasting in January so we'll see what happens.

Our reception is in the upstairs room too. I really love it. Glad everything went well.

Re: The first official Venetian Yacht Club aka VYC thread...

Laura,
Did you notice what the bride had in her seafood boat. We got it with shrimp, oysters, clams and crab legs but didn't go the extra mile and get the lobster.

Did she have lobster? If so, did it seem worth it?
Wow I really have to get back to work bc now I am asking really petty questions

We didn't see it when it was fully setup, but they were in the process of laying out oysters on a layer of ice. Sorry that I didn't take pictures, but there really is a boat that they fill with ice and put the seafood on top of. It looked really neat.

You did not see what the Vienese Hour looks like. I wonder if they really do it up?

No, sorry. We got there before the CH began, so I just got to see some of that setup.

Kelly raved about the VH in her review. When we booked Bill promised us it was a very elegant presentation. I DO NOT want sparklers, techno music, dancing seals and rings of fire with the VH.
I also like that it is set up in the side area and not on the dance floor. We can keep the party going and have dessert...sounds like heaven

Re: The first official Venetian Yacht Club aka VYC thread...

I think they just bring the stuff in the room upstairs, downstairs they open up the small room and combine the two rooms together so I am happy about that because we wanted the reception downstairs because of the patio.
