Maybe you should reschedule with FM, I am getting a ton for $2,500 (IF HE FINDS ME A PERCUSSIONIST!)

Have you tried to see if Howie Bongo is available for your date...He was booked for mine.. after hearing people rave about him I watched a demo and was hooked within a minute

Who is he? How did I see the demo???

ask FM if they work with him or if they have his number. He does free lance with different DJ companies. I saw a demo at HV, maybe Vinny will get him for you..You will NOT be dissappointed with him...he is amazing... good luck

I'm using Howie Bongo!!!
I think he will be really great! He is doing a steel drum during the cocktail hour and percussion during the reception. I'm so excited!!!!

O.k... here are my results from my tasting last night...I just realized these pics will only help the girls who will be in the downstairs rooms...sorry girls who are upstairs I will try to attach pics to this post....if it doesn't work I will put them in my album....First.... things that were updated...... marble columns....they look great...outside on the deck they did away with the white wooden flower boxes and replaced it with marle ones......looks beautiful, they even added a marble bench....nice touch! also I'm not sure who has or hasn't seen the new railing they put up (use to be plain white) now it is a magestic wrought iron.......makes such a difference...o.k food...Bill set a nice table for us downstairs...we felt so special...lol.. he brought out 3 entrees...filet, chix toscana, and sea bass..
The filet was perfect...a must have....the toscana was delish...however....it had a bone..my concern is that my guests might shy away from it for that reason...when I expressed my concerns with bill, he advised the bone is just for presentation, if I had concerns they would just make it w/o the bone
Viola!!! problem solved...love love..love them over there...even after they have our money....they still keep giving...now....the sea bass.....it was fishy....and I'm a fish eater....so we will prob. do the shrimp scampi....if anyone tastes it please keep me posted....He also brought down some of the passed food.....sirloin on a skewer(yummmmy), crakes cakes, beef wellington, shrimp cosy, spinich quiche....everything was really terreifc....I even sampled my drink specials....dirty martini & a cosmo......perfect!!!
The only negative I would give is that the CH wasn't decorated enough. you can see in the picures the table has 3 plants on it....and thats really it.....FM me if you have any questions

FINALLY you validated what I thought was insanity on my part. YES..the CH decoration is a bit sparce. When Mike and I went to drop off a payment in July I thought the same thing but thought well maybe they weren't done with setting up (meanwhile the they were in the middle of the ceremony outside at that point). Yea it is a little weak if you ask me. I REALLY don't want to spend $$ for CP as the CH. Maybe they can do something to spruce it up a bit???

I am glad the tasting went well. I can't wait to go. I am glad you mentioned that the chicken had a bone and the bass was fishy bc I was really considering both. Glad you enjoyed it!!!

I'm using the Garden City Hotel for the night before and the night of. But I am booking block space for guests at the Huntington Hilton and the Marriott LaGaurdia. The Hilton seems the closes to VYC and we are also booking space at the Marriott bc we have some guests that might be in town for a few days and prefer to be closer to NYC than LI. I think the Huntington Hilton is a fair price. I think I was quoted $130 a night. I have to check for sure thought.

We blocked our rooms with the Huntington Hilton as well. Our rate is $135 per night, but we get a free suite for the night of the wedding if 25 rooms are booked (which won't be a problem for us).

I went with the Garden City hotel bc it is close to my house be in the event that I forget something at home which would be typical Brittny..like my veil, garter, shoes, ect it's a 5 minute drive. If I stayed at The Huntington Hilton and forgot something I would be screwed
Wow 25 rooms Laura you have a lot of OOT's! I'm guessing you have a lot coming up from DC. We don't have too many. Mike's colleagues from OH are the bulk of our OOT's. I'll be shocked if we have a total of 20.

Yep, we have a ton of OOT people. Mike's family is all from PA and FL and all our friends from college are spread out all over the country. One of my BMs is coming from London. I'm actually worried because we can only block 30 rooms without being held responsible for them ourselves. I know that we're going to need A LOT more than that.

Bill told us that we could come in the day before for the rehersal. Our ceremony will be outside so I assume that's where we'll reherse.

I just got off the phone with Audrey's bakery and they're making us a tray of cake and filling samples. I can't wait to try it all. We're pretty sure that we're going to get the canolli filling, but I want to taste it first. Yummmmmmmmm.
