Re: ***The OFFICIAL Venetian Yacht Club / VYC thread***

I am getting married at St. Mark's in East Islip and am trying to find a place to have the rehearsal dinner. I am looking for a place that will fit about 40 people and that has a room that will give us privacy. I was hoping for an Italian place but it really doesn't matter as long as the price is good and the place is nice. Any ideas?? Where are you guys having yours?

Re: ***The OFFICIAL Venetian Yacht Club / VYC thread***

Hey everyone!
So i havent booked the VYC yet its in my top 3 along with fox hollow and the inn at NYP. I love the VYC but my concern is that I want a fall wedding with a very warm romantic style... lots of candels lots of dark red roses everywhere and some crystal accents. My problem is that Im not really sure how my idea will look in the room, what does eveyone think?? It seems like alot of people are doing a beach theme because its on teh water but I dont want a beach theme at all.....Help!

Re: ***The OFFICIAL Venetian Yacht Club / VYC thread***

I'm getting married in October and not doing a beach theme. Either room (upstairs or down) would look gooooooorgeous all lit up with candles and red roses.....I plan on doing something similiar but not red. I'm all for VYC!

Re: ***The OFFICIAL Venetian Yacht Club / VYC thread***

Anticipated wedding day: 6/13 or 6/20
Just got engaged 12/25/07 to my boyfriend of 9 years, high school sweethearts :)

Just came across the ventian, which oddly enough is only about 10 minutes from my house that I've lived at all my life, go figure right?

But I think this is the venue, and judging by your comments so far...I feel that much more excited.

I am planning on going for my appointment to set stuff up and taste, etc. this upcoming week.

Will keep everyone posted, so glad this is here!

Re: ***The OFFICIAL Venetian Yacht Club / VYC thread***

Oh I hope you book the VYC - I love Bill - he is awesome to work with and from the looks of it we may be getting married a week apart.

Congrats on your engagement - let us know if you have any questions -

Yay for the VYC

I am also planning to use a ton of candles but I am thinking of going with green as my colors or I might do a sunset theme - I don't know I am sooo conflicted!

Re: ***The OFFICIAL Venetian Yacht Club / VYC thread***

Hey, thanks for the congrats...same to you!

I am hoping that there isn't anyone else scheduled for the 13th, I think i'll be very disappointed if I can't have it at the VYC.

Gree would be really pretty, I'm noticing it in a lot of the magazines and its really nice. I'm not really a pink kinda girl but I'm noticing that i tend to favor the bridesmaids in like a mauve color...which I guess wouldn't be so bad with the gold throughout the club.

Will they let you place the candles yourselves, or do they do it for you but charge you?

ahhh now I'm that much more excited but nervous...guess I'll feel better once the site is officially booked :)

Keep me posted! Happy New year

Re: ***The OFFICIAL Venetian Yacht Club / VYC thread***

I am actually going to ask my florist to incorporate candles so then I wouldn't have to worry about the set-up. I would call them asap - when we were there in early Nov they were book the spring of 09 very quickly - the original date we wanted was booked - let us know how it goes!

Re: ***The OFFICIAL Venetian Yacht Club / VYC thread***

OH no...now I'm extra nervous. I'm out of state with family until 1/6 and won't be able to visit before then....its so hard because we just got engaged but yet seem to really have fallen in love with the VYC. I guess the only thing is that I'm flexibile...I want 6/13 however I will be willing to work so long as its within 5/09 - 6/09.....I think I'd even wait until sept or october if it meant getting the site....gotta pick and choose wisely I guess right? best to have it where you want it with the only you love then go somewhere else for a date that is not set in stone....heres hoping though that our appointment goes well and we get as close to our preference as possible

The candles with the flowers...that would be very pretty, very romantic.

Did you get a wedding planner or did you find doing it yourself was possible while still staying sane? haha

:)

Re: ***The OFFICIAL Venetian Yacht Club / VYC thread***

As if you have nothing better to do :) haha...but do you happen to know if this is the most updated list of those planning for the VYC in 2009?

I just recently got engaged on 12/25 (YAY!) and am very excited to hopefully have my wedding at the VYC on 6/13/07 or around there (semi-flexible) but am starting to get nervous that the month will be booked solid. I am out of state until sunday and won't be able to get to an appointment until next week (ugh so nervous) and am praying that they will have availablity on or near our desired date...but figured, all these lists going around..might either relax me about my date or give me a heads up to choose another date ....

How early did you book for yours from the time of engagement?

figured I'd ask any questions I have now knowing you guys are all going through the same thing!

:) thanks!

Re: ***The OFFICIAL Venetian Yacht Club / VYC thread***

You and I are going to be BFF before the week is through - hahahaha!!!

As I told you I got engaged on 10/27 and we went to the VYC a week later. There is no official 09 list per se - Melissa has been great at keeping this at accurate as possible!! She brought us all together ( love you!).

Anywho, when we went most of the Saturday's in May were booked except Memorial Day weekend but we didn't want that so we went with 6/6. When we were there 6/13 was available but you never know - I am sure something will be available b/c 2 days after we booked someone cancelled for 5/2 - things are always changing. Try to meet with Bill - he's awesome and will answer all of your questions. Think positive - you'll be fine!!!! Then we'll be hall twins - hahahaha. Personally, I think the VYC is worth changing your date but that's a personal choice. I wouldn't want to get married anywhere else - I think its gorgeous.
