I also got a great pair of silver shoes for my MOH's wedding in March. Definetly check them out. Although different stores seem to have different stuff, because another BM from the March wedding went to the Massapequa Payless to get the silver shoes and they didn't have them. So if you don't see something in one store, check out another.

For your sunburn, keep putting moisturizer on all week up until Thursday -- if you keep your skin moist, maybe it won't peel so quickly.

BTW, is anyone planning on tanning before their wedding? My gown is strapless, so I am planning to go for a few sessions to give myself a little tone.

I was tan for my trial (came back from a Caribbean cruise the week before).

I have so much moisturizer on my face its SO shiney... hahaha
I was thinking I would go tanning in October sometime... I was just telling FH that at my trial I will be tan and then at the wedding I won't, so I was concerned the make up would look different... I will go tanning a few times to get some color...

The tanning will help to get you started on your honeymoon anyway.

I want to try spray tanning. Has anyone done that? I made an appointment for e-pics (for the 3rd tme) FH kept cancellng due to work. Maybe this time, we'll actually go.

Have you guys been going for facials regularly?

Before I was engaged, I would go every 3 months or so. Then I started going every other month. But I've read where 6 months before they recommend going every month.

I still have a gift certificate for the Emerald Door in Huntington to use for one, but I've been hopping from place to place based on price and gift certificates, etc.

Does anyone have someone good to recommend that isn't too expensive? I'm not looking for a froo-froo facial -- I want deep cleansing and toning.

I am not sure where to get a facial... I only had one done in my life and it was at a spa upstate... It was so relaxing though... I think the lady there expln'd to have facials done every 3 months or so.... but I am not exactly sure...
I need to do something to my face... I feel like it's all about to peel off from the sun....

One of my friends got the air-brush tan before her graduation and it was still very streaky! I like controlling it myself--at least then I have no one else to blame! I tried the Neutrogena sunless (the new one that gives gradual color). The color looked very natural. I missed some spots the first time, then tried it again, applying with a makeup foam pad, and it came out soo much better. Try it! It only lasts for a few days so you have nothing to lose. Just exfoliate first. Good luck!

a girl I work w/ goes to get sprayed tanning and likes it.... its looks natural... the only thing that was weird was that she had to wear gloves or something to protect her hands... they told her not to get the spray on her hands...

I definitely want to try the spray tan. I should go for facials. I never went before. There's a health & wellness place where I live (Bethpage) & they do all sorts of facials & massages. I never went there but I got my MOH a gift certificate there & she loved it. Their prices are pretty reasonable.

Janine - try Palmers cocoa butter. I use it all the time especially if I burn I never peel afterwards.

ETA: I got a call tonight that my invites & favors are in. I get to pick them up on 6/28.

Allison, I know how you feel. I'm scared the tuxes will get screwed up. We've talked color, but FH has no clue sometimes.

I agree, offer to go with him to look around and then you can guide him in the right direction. The other option is to enlist the help of the best man.

So I got the call that my dress is in and I'm excited and scared. I'm 12lbs thinner than when I ordered it, but its still nerve racking. I'm going Friday afternoon to check it out and try it on.

Allison, what colors are you going? Our color scheme is dark red (more wine really for the BM dresses), but I don't know if that is too much for the tuxes. Also, do any of you have ivory dresses? Are you doing ivory shirts for the guys?

My dress is white with silver threading...MOH dress is dark burgundy with a bit of black (see attached).

Grooms tux will be black with white shirt, silver vest and tie (not bow tie).

Best Man tux will black with white shirt, burgundy vest and tie (again, not bow tie).

I don't think it's too much for the tuxes.

Table linens will also be white.

Centerpieces will be all dark red - burgundy.

Bouts will be burgundy calla's

My flowers will be burgundy calla's and black roses.

MOH flowers will be blush roses with burgundy snap dragons.

I posted all of my pics of the stuff I am using. I want my FI to be in a traditional tux and the GM in burgandy vest and bow tie. The GM will have a rust call and FI will have a burgandy calla.

My dress is very white!! We are probably going to go with ivory for the table linens or something like the attached pic. I am going for my tasting at Flowerfield tomorrow and they set-up all of the tables with different linens so I can see them all. I can't wait

they call my dress ivory, but it's really a diamond/off white BUT if FH wore white, you'd tell the difference, i think. I love ivory for the Fall though. Hadn't thought about the guys--i guess they should match the groom huh?!

AHHHHHHH I AM GETTING SOOOOOOO EXCITED!!!

I have to pick an invitation. I am going to post the style I like. please tell me what you think. my mom thinks it's too big and that it looks like a menu lol i love it though! I think it screams of elegance and class!!! i think i need the second one down-the leaf one!! WOOHOO!! It screams 'AUTUMN!' yeah!

I like the first and second invites! The first is more my style, but I agree, the leaves say autumn more...All beautiful!
