thanks girls!!!

I absolutely LOVED the way Pauline did my hair and make up... but after my trial was over she told me so may be going on vacation the weekend of my wedding...and then she told me that she would call me the next day and let me know, and never called... so I am not booking her...
she was telling me that I had to guarantee that a certain amount of my bm would get their hair & make up done too...she said I had to 'make it worth her while'... I was a little turned off by that...and plus she never called like she said she would. I was so upset b/c I loved my hair & make up sooo much...
so now I am currently trying to book more trials...

I picked up my favors & invitations tonight! I absolutely love the invitations, they came out better than expected. Here's a picture on the invite.

Janine, Pauline did a great job. But if that is her attitude, then I bet there is someone even better out there. I think her comment about making it worth her while is outrageous!

So I don't know what you guys are doing for your rehearsal dinners, but I found this great site that does announcements, invites and personalized note cards.

I already ordered personalized notecards and found them great to work with and CHEAP! They even send a proof. Most things work out to be $0.50 per card.

My mom just called me @ work to tell me that the man in the brown uniform(UPS) lol just delivered my INVITES

She told me the same thing Janine. I didn't think anything of it. She must be going away after my wedding. That is so strange. I have to admit though, she is very hard to get a hold of. Sorry

I am, they are cheap and easy and this way I know they'll have no excuses for getting lost or showing up late.

I honestly think she was lying to me b/c Pauline had another makeup artist call me since she was going on 'vacation' and this new makeup artist said that Pauline called her b/c she could not do my wedding b/c she had plans w/ her daughter. Pauline made up one excuse to me and one to a different make up artist. Pauline started to get all shady when I told her I didn't know if any of the girls would get their make up and hair done... she was all about money... did Pauline mention to you that in addition to your hair & make up you need to guarantee 1 or 2 more girls as well?????
I loved my trial but Pauline has me soooo mad....
I would question her and ask her if she is going away b/c supposively she is going away that weekend with a bunch of friends...

Hi girls

I'm so excited. My jewelry for the wedding came in and I LOVE IT. See pictures.

We got our wax stamp to use on our invitations too. I love the way it came out.

We also booked our limos -- turns out it was the same price for the Hummer limo as getting the 2 cars we needed to hold the same amount of people so FH is very happy now that we are getting the 'cool' Hummer. This was one area that I could care less about, so making him happy was an easy sacrafice.

Tonight I'm going for corset and hopefully to order veils and headpiece at Barron's.

How's everyone else's planning going?

How'd you make out looking for gifts Janine?

Last night was so successful, Miriam's Corsettiere's in East Meadow was great. The are doing some alterations on my undergarment and I can pick it up in a week.

I also went to Baron's at Tri County. All I can say is WOW. They have such a great selection and obviously know what they are doing. I picked out a tiara/comb that they are modifying to take the few pearls off and replace them with rhinestones. I also ordered a custom veil and seperate cathedral veil piece. I can pick everything up at the beginning of August. I'm very excited. And the price was so much less than the salons.

How's everyone doing with their planning?

I actually looked at bracelets for the girls at tri county... I found 14k white gold bracelets for $80 per bracelet... maybe I can bargain them down...
