Re: Where are all my 11/05, 11/06,11/07 girls

I am having her stay with me until after the ceremony. I figured why not. You still have to pay the same price. I love people fussing over me

I decided on sage tableclothes with white chair covers and every other napkin sage and white. I saw it set-up last night and it looked amazing. So elegant and perfect for the fall. They had all of the linens displayed and sage stood out the best. I wanted to cry when I saw it set-up. It was perfect

Re: Where are all my 11/05, 11/06,11/07 girls

awww... glad to hear you like the set up...everything sounds perfect Allison...!

Pauline told me that the price differs if she stays with you throughout the ceremony compared to her just going to your house...
she told me 100 for the house
300 if she stays throughout the ceremony...
is that right?

Re: Where are all my 11/05, 11/06,11/07 girls

I was only told $300 for the ceremony but that was through someone else. I didn't even discuss price with her really. I probably don't need her throughout the ceremony. Not I am not sure. That's a big difference in price

Re: Where are all my 11/05, 11/06,11/07 girls

So i saw my dress yesterday. It was so exciting. And the best part is that when I tried it on...it was....BIG. Almost a whole size big. I've only lost 12lbs from when it was ordered, but Beautiful Bride said that equates to a whole dress size. Not so sure about that...but it was big nonetheless. I'm so happy.

We also went to Sylvia's for a corset. Not a great experience. First of all, I got felt up by an 80 year old woman. She asked me my bra size and I guess she didn't believe me so she decided to cup me to judge for herself. That was wierd. Then considering this is all they are supposed to sell, I'd expect them to be fully stocked. But she had my size, but in the right cup size. Same story for my MOH (who was shopping for her wedding undergarments).

So with that said, does anyone have a different corset shop to recommend? I heard there is another place in Hicksville, but I don't know the name.

Re: Where are all my 11/05, 11/06,11/07 girls

Allison: If I book Pauline I am not going to have her stay throughout the ceremony... It's a difference of $200 which I could apply to something else... when I go to the trial this Friday I will find out the exact prices with her...

Amy... that's awesome about your dress!!!
but sorry to hear about the grabbing old woman... hahaha... are you just looking for an ordinary corset top or something special...b/c I know Davids Bridal sells them for cheaper...

Re: Where are all my 11/05, 11/06,11/07 girls

Janine- Because I'm a plus size, I'd rather go somewhere and have a corset fitted.

I saw a post on the BHB board about budgets. What's everyone's wedding budget, not counting honeymoon? Mine started off at $30k, and will probably hit somewhere between $35k and $40k.

I am thinking around 25-30k... I feel that since we are having our wedding in November the hall is a little cheaper...

Re: Where are all my 11/05, 11/06,11/07 girls

We never had a budget. Which I am very happy about. I don't have to worry if we go over or not. Flowerfield is not cheaper so we did not get a break there. I have no idea even what we have spent so far. Probably around $60,000. Little things add up so quickly

Mine is hopefully staying around 25-30,000...I actually made my budget spreadsheet for the first time last night, so it was scary to actually see all the costs together. That is estimating many of the costs I am not sure of yet--flowers, band (I have to get on that!), makeup and hair...Are you including the rings in that? We haven't looked at those yet either...

Re: Where are all my 11/05, 11/06,11/07 girls

I have not included our wedding bands in my number. We blew the budget line on that when I decided I wanted mine custom.

I had a budget spreadsheet when I first started out, but I haven't updated it in forever. I'm scared to.

You haven't booked your band yet? Do you know who you want to use?

Haha I do know who I want to use, and I know they are still free on the date. I love them, but I really want a second opinion and they haven't played a showcase in a while. I am actually listening to their music from their website now! Haven't looked at rings yet. Oh and looked at invites for the first time last weekend. We've been busy buying our condo, which has been even more time consuming than the wedding stuff!

Re: Where are all my 11/05, 11/06,11/07 girls

Invitations don't take that long -- they take longer to write out and mail out i think.

Who's the band you want to use? Maybe we know them and can give you our opinions.

Rings you have time too unless you are doing something custom.

Do you have pictures of your new condo? I remember when we bought our house last September...wedding stuff was very much on hold for several months.

We love our house so much! Here's a picture.

Amy - your house is so pretty.

You have time for invites mine only took about 2 weeks. Stuffing them will probably take longer.

We have my ring but, we still need a set of plain bands.

Jen, thank you so much!

Are you getting two wedding bands?

Re: Where are all my 11/05, 11/06,11/07 girls

House looks great Amy! Where is it? We are buying in Ronkonkoma, but no pics yet I usually bring my digital camera everywhere, but I didn't when we were looking! I'm not nervous about the invites, but I think FI's nana is going to do the calligraphy, so I want to leave her lots of time so she doesn't get all stressed out about it! I think I am going looking for dresses again. I am undecided about mine.

Thank you so much. We are so proud of our house. We put a bit of work into it, and now we are coasting a bit. Just enjoying it while we also finish planning the wedding. We live in Lindenhurst village.

My aunt is doing our calligraphy. I expect our invites any week now, so she'll have plenty of time over the summer to do them at her leisure.

What kind of dresses are you looking at? You have to order soon don't you?

At this point I would buy a sample off the rack to make sure I have it in time and everything. I just want to go looking to assure myself that the one I have is the best for me, you know?

Re: Where are all my 11/05, 11/06,11/07 girls

But the picture of the dress you posted is so pretty. But if you are having doubts, then I guess looking around wouldn't hurt.

I'd be nervous of doing that for myself. I'd probably second guess myself three times.

So far, FH and I have stuck to our original ideas on most things. Although we did just change our first dance song last week.

Amy... cute home...I cannot wait to be a homeowner

Addressing the budget is always scarey... it like makes you deal with reality and see how much this is all actually costing... but its sooo worth it...

I cannot wait until its 'our' weekend...

Re: Where are all my 11/05, 11/06,11/07 girls

Thanks Amy! That does make me feel a bit better. My FMIL said it doesn't look like a wedding dress, which made me doubt it a bit. I guess she was referring to the detail. I'm posting a pic. of me in it--I guess I also feel like it might not be the most flattering style for me....
