Re: FOX HOLLOW BRIDES - Question & Answer Thread

hi there!! my reception was in the Briar Fox.. everything was absolutely perfect! we did make sure that the DJ set up his speakers right by the doors.. this way it would be more comfortable for the guests!
you will fall in love with that room when you are having your reception.. the way it looks all set up!
its so romantic and intimate..![]()
Thanks so much. Yea, we have been talking to DJs to make sure they can set their speakers up by the door. I was also concerned about how many people fit in there. We want round tables and he said he can only fit 14 tables of 10 (comfortably). I'm also concerned if the dance floor is too small???
We are thinking of doing only candle centerpieces, I think with the fireplace and all candles it will look amazing.
we had 13 tables that fit more than comfortable!! i had 7 tables on the far side away from the dj.. then 6 tables by the bar.. which was perfectly set up.. PLENTY of room.. i was very happy with that!! i had round tables too.. i would have to say that if they did squeeze another table in.. it should be fine.. but they are right.. no more than 14.. its just the way the set up is... how many tables do you think you need?? oh and we had some tables of 12 too.. and it was not tight.. so think about that too!!
as far as the dance floor.. DH and I thought that it was small too after we booked and before the wedding... but boy were we WRONG! it was huge!! and the dance floor was packed but still plenty of room!! no worried there.!!!

We are inviting 180, and hoping at least 30 say no. I'm glad you say that 12 is not tight, that makes me feel better.
What about the bar? Did they have 2 bartenders at all times?
Thanks for your input, this will help me to sleep a little better at night

if you ever want to FM with questions.. feel free!! i was the same way.. and so concerned..
anyways.. there were at least 2 bartenders.. there might have been a 3rd..cant remember.
we invited 200 and ended up with 135.
but yea 12 at a table was no problem at all.. in fact when they showed us the room when we booked, it was set up for a banquet.. and i saw the place settings for 12.. i was happy after that.. it wasnt bad at all!! then for the wedding.. i walked over to the 1 table i had of 12 and they were fine!! all comfortable!
you will be very pleased!!

Re: FOX HOLLOW BRIDES - Question & Answer Thread
girls who already called in their final count - did they connect you to a person or a voice mail that said to leave all the information and Frank would call you back?I was connected to a voice mail and I left a message with the break down of guests: adults, children, vendors. I'm just wondering if this is the norm and when can I expect a call back?

i spoke directly to Frank yesterday and he asked a few questions and verified stuff and things like that. And I set up my time to drop off my final payment and to bring in all my stuff.

UGH okay - guess I'll have to call them back later and again tomorrow if I don't get to anyone
I just really hope that there will still be room for me on either Monday or Tuesday to drop my stuff off because Wednesday I have to go pick up my dress! I know on the paperwork it says the appointments are first come first serve and that i should call first thing on the day they tell me to (which is today!) to get the best time

CALL THEM BACK!
FH called today and left a message for Frank. But I had a question so I called back and Frank said he never got the message and that it was a good thing I called.

We counted a few of the kids as adults and then the vendors and other kids were 1/3 off.
We ended up paying for 125 adults, 1 child, and 11 vendors. (the only downside to having a band lol)
We drop everything off on Weds

One of the girls on the BHB boards said that we should get a typed contract from our hall. I know i have mine handwritten. Does anyone have a typed one? Not sure if the FH does it or not. I just dont know if i should call up and request one

I'm sorry that this is happening so close to your wedding. I would let Rev. Nick know of the issue if he doesn't yet. Of course he is going to want to be paid, but maybe between the FH and Rev Nick something can be worked out. In the meantime:![]()

Ya FH and I were saying at this point we would rather directly pay rev. nick and not Fox Hollow. Cus now we wonder if he would even get the whole $350. Its all so shady to me.
Gina, did you hear anything else? On my contract, next to clergy, there is nothing written. Maybe the dash only meant they did not include it in your total price, not that it was free (almost like 'n/a'), because they didn't know who you were using? Either way you are right, they should have told you sooner. Why they would write different things on different people's contracts, I don't know. It should be the same for EVERYONE.

Re: FOX HOLLOW BRIDES - Question & Answer Thread
FMIL told me last night that FH''s grandfather wasn't coming to the reception. I argued with her for over an hour about the fact that he had to be there and she said 'NO. He's not coming.'
I said, fine, but if he's not coming I'm not including him in my headcount b/c that's not fair to my parents.
She said 'whatever, he's not coming.'
So today while i'm making my seating chart she tells me to someone at his table...
ummm... no? b/c he's not coming right? She then argues that he is coming.I called in my final headcount today, and like it or not it's now about the principal since we went back and forth with this yesterday and she KNEW i had to give my final count today.
She's now pissedoff at me b/c 'we can't just toss him aside'
she doesn't understand why I can't just give him a seat at the table. I said, I'll leave the seat open, but i can't promise they will put the extra chair there, or give him the place card b/c it would go against my count.
She's mad at me... even though they are the ones playing with the guest list 8 days before the wedding.

On my contract it says:Ceremony : $750
Clergy: $350
When I spoke to Rev. Nick he said that the $350 goes to the FH and they give him the money.
Ive got a migraine so Im really not thinking straight so am I correct in getting that not everyones paperwork says this?

Mine only lists the ceremony price. The box next to the clergy is blank. I specifically remember the FH telling me that if I went with a FH recommended clergy, I would get 'a reduced rate' of $350, but that amount hasn't been charged yet. I do not think I am going with Nick, so it's good that I haven't been charged for it since getting the money back would probably be hell ....
This is the one thing I am unhappy with the FH about. They are not clear with their contracts, or what they say they will do for you ... i was told I was going to get a lot of things before i booked, and after I did, I got none of them.
