Re: OFFICIAL Indian 'Desi' Wedding Thread

so i went to check out my lengha for my reception.. i ordered it back in december and it finally came in and i wasn't too keen on it..

my lengha is all swaroski crystals and of course gold crystals was the base and it had deep green accents, but we opted for another lighter shade of green and it looks like awash now.. all gold since the green is light.. i told her i want the skirt to pop more.. and now she has to order the crystals from india and think of what to do.. she said not to worry but i wanted to sooo fall in love with it.. given how much we are paying for it..

it's a beautiful lengha don't get me wrong, it's a stunning piece and when the light hit it, it was all sparkly, sparkly, but i don't want it to look like a beige or gold lengha with some green on it.. indian clothes are supposed to pop out with color.. ugh.. she said she'll work something out.. given that there's 2 months left..

Don't worry, it sounds like she's going to try her best to do what she can to make it what you're looking for. It may not 'pop' to you because you had envisioned something else, you know?

It's the exact same as the sample piece, I just envisioned it with more color.. but now that I keep looking at it, it might work..

so what kind of green is it? like a celery green??

a little darker than celery green, the sample piece was an emerald green, and it looked really dark.. so that's why we opted for a lighter shade.. I hope it comes out well..

I was planning on a pink outfit for the reception, but didn't find anything that struck me..

Re: OFFICIAL Indian 'Desi' Wedding Thread

I feel like getting totally new invitations printed from a local place. its annoying since my invites were nice and desi traditional, and i wanted that.
:( But if i do get them, they cant be a huge amount of money since we already spent $$ on invites from pakistan

Re: OFFICIAL Indian 'Desi' Wedding Thread

Ok im not freaking out anymore..i went to a printing press to see if they would replicate my insert for my invite. The lady and her daughter working there actually suggested putting in a lil note card into the invite stating that the time is later. She said to put it in in like a cute poem or something. Sooooooo.....now i need help thinking of what words to write which wont sound stupid.. All help is much appreciated!

Hey girls - does anyone have ideas for a hindi song to play in the background during the ring ceremony for my engagement party? Something meaningful?
