I got a few of those humongous crystal cut Mikasa picture frames that I totally did not want, so I regifted them over Xmas.
I know, I am going to hell

Re: What did people buy you off your registry that you didn't register for and did NOT want?
a lot of Lenox - picture frames, vases, etc. Its not our style, so I returned it all or gave it away to others that love it.We got a lot of towels that weren't on our registry. We had towels on the registry, but we got alot more that weren't.
We also got matching pieces to some Nambe stuff that we did register for - but I liked those.
hmm, can't think of anything else.

Re: What did people buy you off your registry that you didn't register for and did NOT want?
Several things that were the sort of gifts you just had to say 'what were they thinking? because they werent thinking of us!'- Foot high brass crucifix with our names and wedding date engraved in it.
- Giant Lenox crystal vase that is more like a big ice cream sundae dish then a vase. I did not register for ANY crystal - why would someone buy us this?
- Huge double 8x10 Lenox china picture frame that sells at Macy for over $100. Didnt register for ANY China, dont like Lenox, doesnt go AT all in our house.

Re: What did people buy you off your registry that you didn't register for and did NOT want?
It's nice to get a few surprise gifts not from your registry, but it's so hard to know what's best (hence the creation of the registry!)What I did not want (or better yet need) were hand vacuums. SInce I already have one, I didn't add another to my list. I guess people thought I would still need one, so I got 2 more at my shower. I can't even return them, so I gave them away.
A few other random things that I wouldn't use by all in all, I made out quite nicely at my shower

I remembered one - monogrammed matching robes. Except they did the monogram wrong, so we sent them back. They did it wrong again, and since we didn't really need/want them, we got a credit.

Re: What did people buy you off your registry that you didn't register for and did NOT want?
Let me see, where do I beginA tranquility fountain
A casserole dish no cover, obviously a re-gift, I don't even cook casserole...hmm now that I am thinking about it, I do not even know what a darn casserole is or how to make one. I am going to make the gifter something in it and tell her she can keep it
A whole bunch of frames, which we gave away as gifts
Vases for days, I plan on giving a couple away
A pizza stone
That's all I can remember.

Re: What did people buy you off your registry that you didn't register for and did NOT want?
OH LORD! half the gifts at my shower were not on my registry. I got three times the towels that I registered for, about 6,000 wine glasses, regifted farberware pots in shrinkwrap (not even in the box). Plastic charger plates from costco, 3 vases....I COULD CRY thinking about all of it. I have to buy myself so much stuff now. OH BUT MY FAVORITE...Thomas Kinkade plates to hang on the wall from FMIL. (Why couldnt she just buy us the vacuum? LOL)

Re: What did people buy you off your registry that you didn't register for and did NOT want?
We got a knife set - already had 2 from combining households. Its in the closet until the next bridal shower or house warming party
A really cool wedding video case with our names and date engraved (I like this!)
And a BBQ kit - utencils, cookbook, sauce, etc. but we live in an apartment building
Do love BBQ though. We regifted the utencils.

Re: What did people buy you off your registry that you didn't register for and did NOT want?
I don't want to seem nasty or start trouble but this post seems very ungrateful in my eyes. Why dont we talk about the things that we like or the good things people have bought us or even done for us.Some people aren't as fortunate,we should be grateful for every gift we receive even if its not what we wanted! Shamma that figurine is so ugly, it might brake the camera.

Re: What did people buy you off your registry that you didn't register for and did NOT want?
I got alot of doubles of stuff I registered for-my registry choices were not good.I got lucky-we got a few picture frames, liked them & used them all. I actually registered for some Lenox that I wanted & got.
I got two huge crystal bowls from Tiffany, but they were both in a pattern I could not use in my home-so I exchanged them for similar items.
I think people were afraid to guess what I would like because everyone knows I've been living on my own FOREVER & I already had more crap than any one person should have.
The best gifts were the things people made for us.

Allure nothing against you, but I do appreciate the gifts that I got, but I think we are free to share the gifts that we do not like and laugh about them.Natasha you are too funny. The next time I go over your mom I am bringing my digital so we can share it here.

Maybe you ladies should post about the gifts that you actually like, instead of focusing on the negative.SHAMMA you of all people should know there are less fortunate out there

Re: What did people buy you off your registry that you didn't register for and did NOT want?
Allure: We have talked about the good before, and I am sure there will be many more discussions in the future. However, we have a right to discuss the not so thoughtful gifts.Sham: you will be taking the picture at your own risk. I do not have any money to replace your camera if it breaks.

Re: What did people buy you off your registry that you didn't register for and did NOT want?
Natasha we have insurance, anyway we could use a new camera.Allure what do you mean, me of all people should know about less fortunate???
I am confused as to the comment. No one that gave us anything that we did not like was less fortunate. We are not rich people either, but I don't think I should even have to justify, having a little fun at the gifts we did not like that we received. You are entitled to your opinion and I will not hate you for it. We can always agree to disagree and still be cool
