Claud - someone gave me those glasses, but they're cordials, not wine. I kinda like them though - they're a little different and I wouldn't have purchased them myself

Re: What did people buy you off your registry that you didn't register for and did NOT want?
Along with almost everyone else we got the huge Mikasa crystal cut vass that weighs a ton. A bunch of lenox frames and bowls. We actually received a lenox bowl from my hubby's aunt at our e-party that I returned then at my shower she gave us the matching frame (which I also returned) but felt kind of bad because she put thought into it matching. But the one thing we got as a wedding gift that I feel bad about returning, but it is totally not our style is a Waterford Crytsal clock that I know is expensive and nice but we just don't have anything to do with it not does it match anything.

Shamma - I have those glasses, but they have handpainted flowers on them. They're fun. I have them out here, since all my crystal is in NY.

Re: What did people buy you off your registry that you didn't register for and did NOT want?
I do not always buy off the registry, but normally that is ONLY for people I am very close with. I didn't get Stef or Claud or Cindy anything off their registry. But if it was a co-worker, or someone in Scott's family I would get them something off the registry. I got lots of non-registered shower gifts, but I think it is just that people want to be creative. I returned some stuff that I didn't really want/need. I just appreciate the thought.I also made sure that I registered for gifts in all price ranges. That is only fair. Everyone has a different budget to work with.

Re: What did people buy you off your registry that you didn't register for and did NOT want?
The best gifts are the ones with the boxes that have turned yellow over the years of sitting in the regifters closet !
ONE MORE THING that annoyed me. I few things I cant return because. you know how you write down who got you what, so that you can personally thank them in the TY Cards ? Well one of my BM's wrote the names ON THE BOXES
So I cant go return something with someones name scribbled across the front !
Come to think of it, once a BRUS I saw a diaper bag with 'from Heather' writtten on the tag, LOL.
Edited to say: ALlure, lighten up ! We are not ungrateful, we are just having fun here ! Wait till you have kids and see the GIRLY outfits that people get for your BOY !! (Im talking about something that happend to me ! He wore it once when they came over, and I gave it away to a friends little girl. she loved it!)

We got some things that weren't on the registry. We didn't get a gift receipt and we had no idea where they bought them because they had no labels on them. They are just collecting dust downstairs because we don't need these things & would never use them.

Sonicstef - I love the Lennox pieces you have. Maybe you would consider selling them or putting them on EBAY?

Re: What did people buy you off your registry that you didn't register for and did NOT want?
This has nothing to do w/ the registry- but the wishing well. The theme was 'entertainment'. I received a swing CD, drink sticks, a whole cake decorating kit, fancy chopsticks, bar recipes, etc... someone gave me one of those Harry & David kits on a mini cutting board w/ dried sausage and processed cheese... I almost died I thought it was so funny.

Re: What did people buy you off your registry that you didn't register for and did NOT want?
I got a bunch of those expense Lenox and Mikasa frames and stuff. I got most of them from my mom's friends. I can see why they liked them but I am really not into that and I feel badk b/c I know they were not cheap. My mom keeps telling me when I get a house I will change. I hope so b/c right now they are packed away. I am scared to death to regift b/c we all interract so much.
We got a microwave. This was the LAST thing we needed. At the time we had three microwaves in our apartment so that made four.

Re: What did people buy you off your registry that you didn't register for and did NOT want?
Oh my God - I am laughing soooo hard at these! We've only had our engagement party but already got a few pretty weird things. First, my FIs cousin (a 35 yr old single man mid you) gave us six purple towels...and I mean deep deep purple that you can't even diguise as anything. They were in a gap box so I'm pretty sure were regifted. They had little white tags on them but couldn't tell where they're from. Then we got these God-awful Mikasa toasting/wine glasses? They are huge and heavy and hideous. My mom thinks she saw them at Costco - boy would I love to return them b/c I would never regift them. The best part though is that there was no card on the box so we have NO idea who they're from!!! We cannot figure out who they're from either. Oh well.
And lots of Lenox and Mikasa frames -SO not our style. In fact, one person gave us these huge shiny silver frames with hearts all over them. Oy!!!
I wonder what the shower will bring?? More laughs I'm sure!
