Allure, I normally try to stay away from this type of posting, but I am trying to enjoy this thread and every few posts I see a message from you bashing us and I am tired of it.Seriously, what is your problem? We are just sharing a laugh.
You have every right to state your opinion, but you have now crossed the line into becoming obsessive about it.

Ok, so I suggest to stop our responses to allure... This should keep her quiet according to her post above.

Natasha, hubby does not use cologne either and he gets alot of those, I think they have lost their sweet smell, maybe he can put them up as collector's items, I should see what I can fetch for some of them. SOme I don't think they make anymore

He likes cologne; however, he hates the cheap ones.

Re: What did people buy you off your registry that you didn't register for and did NOT want?
Did everyone have a wishing well? Some of my funniest gifts were in there- A chiahead (from my mother)
- a box of condoms from my sister
- a 10 lb box of rice
- 9 sets of measuring cups and spoons...
-
oh and the most creative gift..was the Omaha steaks that I received. It was really funny then...
Oh and my MIL bought my a lenox menorah after I made sure I told her that I did not like the yellow lenox and it is not my style...

I wish my hubby liked cologne - he can't be bothered with any of that though!I'm trying to think of all time worst gifts - I'm sure I can come up with a few

Re: What did people buy you off your registry that you didn't register for and did NOT want?
DH got an Omaha gift box for a gift once. We really enjoyed the steaks, but we were surprised that the hamburgers were not all that good. Did you notice that?Teri - DH only wears one kind of cologne, one teeny tiny little squirt after a shower. I swear he still has the same bottle I gave him the first Christmas we were together in 2000

Re: What did people buy you off your registry that you didn't register for and did NOT want?
Well, I'm still driving around with that infamous crockpot in my trunk!!!
I was lucky and didn't really get anything too outrageous for my shower.Hey Anna, any of your Lenox frames 8x10? I thought I got one, but apparently I got a million 5x7s!!!
Jenn, that was so sweet!
:As for your comments Allure, everyone is entitled to their own opinion and you are most certainly entitled to yours. This thread isn't about being ungrateful, as everyone has already stated above. It's supposed to be funny and make you wonder what people were thinking when they shopped. Don't tell me that you've never been to a shower and seen some ridiculous gift and said 'thank god it wasn't for me'!! I was grateful and appreciative of every single gift I got (including the infamous crockpot), but some things just weren't my taste and there is no crime in that.
You haven't been in our shoes yet and once you have, I'd like to see what you have to say then. If you don't like the comments people are saying here, you don't have to read this thread.
This is why I haven't been on here lately. I don't like what's happening -- it seems like there are WAY too many fights and nasty comments going around and it's not fun anymore. Why does it have to get like this? I know when you're a B to B, it's very stressful, but once that craziness is over, it's fun and we all have fun on this side. No two people are alike, therefore there are always going to be differences in opinion. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and nobody should take that away from you. Just remember the other people when stating that opinion.
It just seems like lately, you can't comment on the weather w/o a big bruhaha starting. I come on here to talk to my friends and get some levity in my day, not to hear this catty bull****.
I'm getting off my soapbox now.

Re: What did people buy you off your registry that you didn't register for and did NOT want?
Oh that reminds me - some of my wishing well gifts were entertaining...I got a white rubber cat mat (very ugly) that goes in the bottom of your sink. (I hate cats!!!) I feel bad because the person who gave it to me is very sweet. I put it in my sink as a joke to DH and it is still in there months later. I giggle everytime I see it.
I got a one cup coffee maker. DH was like cool...open it up and there is a piece of paper saying compliments of XYZ Company and a date. It must have been someone's free gift for attending a party/seminar! Tacky. We haven't figured out who gave it to us!

Re: What did people buy you off your registry that you didn't register for and did NOT want?
HOW COULD I FORGET??!!! I just remembered the oddest gift ever.On our wedding night, we decided to open up all of our cards - we originally wanted to wait til the next morning, but we were too excited! So I immediately grabbed this odd shaped card, with bumpy things inside....W T F??!! I opened the card, and it contained some cash, a $1 off COUPON for something at the grocery store, and BREATH MINTS!!!
Classic! I guess they thought we should have minty-fresh breath on our first night as husband and wife?!! LOL We laughed our butts off about that for weeks

Re: What did people buy you off your registry that you didn't register for and did NOT want?
gotta admit i was pretty lucky w/bridal shower gifts - except for the honeymoon cheezy package w/cd of romantic music, bath salts, perfume soap etc... we did NOT use it on honeymoon hubby didn't want to smell perfumy
also a really nice gift (JUICER) but we have never used it and frankly probably never will
regarding house/kitchen stuff: even tho we lived together before marriage there was still lots of stuff we needed (more pans/mixing bowls) that we just didn't want to spend the money on that we put on registry and were thankful to get!
the worst wedding gift:
it's ugly and i didn't even realize how cheap until i was walking thru the mall - a monogramed silver plated huge frame w/big hearts on the corners - come on they couldn't afford more than a $35 dollar wedding gift?
also there was a doctor (we know they make $$$) who came to the wedding and didn't even give a gift - ughhhh! I'll remember when he gets married!

Re: What did people buy you off your registry that you didn't register for and did NOT want?
Not my gift, but my sister received one of those pinpoint massagers for a wedding gift. Not sent or anything, they actually gave this to her at the wedding! It was one of those really suggestive looking ones too.Welcome New Vendors
