Hi Girls,In browsing this thread I found Lessing's (does catering for Bourne Mansion and other places). Has anyone hosted an event at one of the places or been to one of their restaurants? Most of the places have really good prices. http://www.lessing.com/catering.htm
Thanks!

We booked our wedding at West Sayville Golf Course for 9/2007 and they gave us a good deal. Everyone is nice there. We decided to have our wedding there because my dad worked there for years and years. He passed away due to cancer in 1996.
I felt this would be the perfect place for our wedding and that september would be the perfect month for us to get married.
West Sayville Golf Course is owned by lessings.

Oheka castle I heard is 200/pp + 10,000 site fee. The woodlands was much better at $115pp for a October Friday Night.

When you negotiate you have to make sure that you dont ask for things you mosr demand without being stupid about itWe had no problem and were able to negotiate prices down at every place that we went to by at least 10 pp
Its more a matter of making them WANT your business, if you love the place tell them-I reallly have my heart set on this place-is there anything you can do for me as far as price is concerned or maybe throw in ........ make sure you know what you want them to throw in before you do that-otherwise you will wish you got the viennese hour instead of chair covers

Thank you! My fi and I absolutely loved the Harrison House, but I don't think we'd be able to afford the $180pp price tag! I still have a few more places to see, so hopefully we can find somehting we love just as much that's more in our budget!

JT-and CBWe talked to Bella Verde - East Wind - and Floral Terrace on the phone and they were willing to come down on the price but each one had something that didnt work for us
Bella Verde-too small
East Wind-too far
Floral Terrace-minimum was too high
JT wouldnt drop my price or my minimum
CB added and dropped my price

Re: Hey Ladies...Let's post reception halls and there prices for 07 as we go on our search?
SoonToBeMrsS what places are you looking at and how many people? You should try
Pine Hollow-the price list they sent me was insane! They are new though so I would make a point to MAKE sure they will do a food tasting
Fox Hollow-their prices are usually pretty good, if you dont have your heart set on a sat nite, try a friday nite-prices do drop a little
Chateau Briand-All I can say is the price they originally quoted me was under $100
Bella Verde-its pretty not extremely formal-but cute, intimate and very pretty-there max I think is 125-but its in Suffolk
Arianna Waterfall-they have set package prices depending on you PP count

yes it is! ..they do not do saturday weddings in july or august due to contractual obligations to the hotel...for my saturday in october it is $227 per person after tax and gratuity..i think its somewhere around 160-170 per person before t&g and there is a 100 person minimum and a 200 person max

Re: Hey Ladies...Let's post reception halls and there prices for 07 as we go on our search?
I just realized that Pine Hollow is in MedfordIf you want to take a shot at it anyway they have an ad on the vendors page-under receptions (catering halls) They dont have a web site but they give you a phone number. If you email them with what you are looking for-head count, sit down, time of day, date, etc they will email you their price list.
