I still think she did a great job, Have you thought about how you would like your hair.

I was just thinking of keeping that look. She did a really good job - if I did not have to wear the glasses, then maybe I would have gone for a second look!

On Saturday I will be going for my hair trial. I bought a beautiful small comb - it will probably go on the right side of my hair. I will take pictures - & post them! I can't wait!

Celia,I know you can't promise - it's ok - I was thinking maybe we have seen each other in Jimmy's Restaurant.
How long have you been going there?
Back in the early 2000's I used to go there every Friday night. Jimmy or Sal always had reserved the corner table for me & my past Fiance - (he passed away in 2005)
Could it be from there????

Re: Official 30+ Brides (previously 40+ thread)
Hi, all! Here's a question for all of u.....I'm wondering if anyone is having the same issues, and I've been embarrassed to post this anywhere else, b/c all the 'younger' brides seem to have FHs that are totally psyched about their wedding....
here's the story....
FH was married b4 (town hall), this is my FIRST marriage. So i've spent the last 38 years DREAMING of having a wedding, and doing the whole always a bridesmaid, never a bride thing.
FH wanted town hall. He doesn't drink, or dance, and doesn't like big crowds. He's also very private and is having anxiety about 'baring his soul' in front of a crowd of ppl at the wedding.
We had numerous talks about me wanting a wedding, and when he proposed and agreed to do the whole wedding thing, i was so happy b/c i knew he was only doing it to make me happy.
Since then there has been a bunch of times where he says things like 'i didn't want this wedding', and feel so bad about it.....then we fight and/or i cry and he's good for another few weeks.
He hasn't been involved in any of the planning really, save for picking the hall, and the cake appointment. I'm fine with that, but i'm kinda on edge when i talk about the wedding with him, waiting for the next fight.
He has said numerous times, he would've married me MONTHS ago, but I wanted a wedding. So it's not about whether or not he wants to marry me, it's just about the WEDDING.
sorry this is so long. needed to vent i guess, and to ask if anyone else is in a similar situation? Thanks for reading :)

Tracey- All of the sudden FH is saying the same thing. We should have just gone to City Hall and then the HM. He wanted the wedding becasue he was never married and wanted the whole experience. But lately he has been so stressed and it looks like his mom wont be making it to the wedding he is feeling like why are we doing all this. I think its bothering him knowing that his mom wont be able to make it to celebrate with us. He is still very active in all our plans though. It also doesnt help that people are telling him that he wont be able to enjoy our wedding- that we will be pulled out to take pics- saying hello to everyone. I told him that the photographer will have instructions not to pull us off to the side to take pics during the reception. Everything has to be done before and during the CH. we wil lget to enjoy it.
I think alot of men feel this way. They may feel like they arent the 'star' of the show and the wedding is mainly for the woman.
to you. Hopefully he will come around more and get excited when it gets closer to the date.

Re: Official 30+ Brides (previously 40+ thread)
Tracey- I am going through the same thing with my FH. In fact today he said that we should just get married NOW and have a big party - no ceremony at the Swan Club, and there would be no dress or anything related to having on wedding on June 27th.This our our both 2nd marriages, I have been divorced for over 15 years and he is just divorced now 1 year. I was shocked when we discussed getting married in October - because he had always said to me that he wanted to be divorced for at least 1 year before he would even consider it.
He sounds just like your FH - does not want attention drawn to him, does not want the expense as well, but he is doing this for me.
When he talks like that - I just let him talk. In fact last night he was helping me put together the invites and he had to leave to go on a job. That was about 7:30 pm . When we spoke about 9:30 pm I was still doing the invites and he said 'wait for me, & I will help you tomorrow night' - I was just about done by that point.
I don't argue with him when he speaks about not having the wedding - I assured him that the Photographer would not be in our faces all night - she's a good friend of mine, so she know to take alot of pics before the ceremony.
I really try not to make the 'wedding' a big issue. What I really do is try to focus with him about us being married and talk about the future.
I hope this helps you, and I hope that we get through these last few months with some sanity about us!! -
Nancy
p.s. if he wanted to get married NOW at City Hall, I would do it - so this way there would be no pressure for him to feel on the day.

Re: Official 30+ Brides (previously 40+ thread)
Hey ladies, it happens to me too. I have never been married but my FH did the just of the peace with his ex. So I knew he didn't want that because of her. So we are doing the big wedding. Well his family is small and mine is huge. At first he didn't care even when the list was going up. He made all the appointment because I kept saying it your wedding too and if you don't like something, don't wait until after it over because I will hit you. Sometime he would talk and when he meets with vendors he would talk about what he like bad dislike. He was surprise if I remember something he had said. Then one day when I had enough I said to him if you really don't want this wedding please say so right now because if you don't want then there is no point going forward. Yes, it hurt me to say it but I just want to put him out of his pain. That's when he told about everything that was and still bothering him. It not the wedding but the unknown and is people going to look at him as a freak. FH can be social but he is a simple man and I am out there. So I learn to find and do thing different so he can understand. I don't talk wedding every day, that's what I need you girls for. If I bring it up it one thing only and let him think about and get back to me. Sometime it's a day or a week. I think I put too much pressure on him, so now I am more laidback in the planning.

Re: Official 30+ Brides (previously 40+ thread)
Both me and my FH have been previously married. I had the 'big white wedding' the first time around, he did town hall. This time around we decided to go 'somewhere in the middle' LOL. We always knew we would get married, and originally planned to do it on vacation this summer. But plans changed for vacation and we are still desperately trying to sell his condo right now. In January I just mentioned to him that if we really were getting married this year we would have to start planning. He looked at me and said 'I just figured we'd do it next year on vacation'. I responded by saying that I prefer 2010 to 2011...and the wedding planning began. (yes...that does mean I never really got a proposal)
He really just lets me do whatever. I do drag him around because I want him to be involved, but he really has no interest in the details. Don't worry, guys just aren't usually into the wedding details at all. Welcome New Vendors
