Re: Official Chateau La Mer '06 Thread!
Hi Ladies!I have been reading everyone's posts for a while now but finally decided to post.
I NEED YOUR HELP!!!
Any comments about the bakery CLM has doing the cakes? I know what I want but am not sure how flexible they are.
I live in Brooklyn so I am not familiar with the salons in LI. Any recommendations on stylists and makeup artists? I need both. I am staying at the Melville Marriott if that helps.
Also, do you know how CLM arranges rehearsals? Just curious.
Any help you could offer would be greatly appreciated.

I'm getting married at CLM the day before you!! I'm not sure how they work rehearsals I actually have been wanting to call about that. There will prob be a wedding that friday before, so I doubt we'll get to have our rehearsal there.
What kind of cake do you want? I'm sure they have all kinds/styles to choose from.

Re: Official Chateau La Mer '06 Thread!
I know! I saw that on your profile from previous posts. Congrats! Hopefully we will both have fabulous weather.Your thoughts on the rehearsal are EXACTLY what I was thinking. Apparently our weekend is very popular. Is a rehearsal even necessary? I'm thinking no bc I'm not having a religious ceremony and have a fairly small bridal party. Then again, what do I know....
I'm not that concerned abou the cake. I just wanted to see if anyone has had any problems with the cakes that they offer in the package.
I'm just a bit freaked out that I haven't done alot for the wedding and it's only 5 month away.

Hi, I am from Brooklyn as well! My family has been dealing with the Black Forest Bakery for years and they have great cakes! I have never had a wedding cake from there but their other items are really yummy!
As far as a salon, I am going to Studio 19 for hair and make-up, the girls from Mirage are there now!!
Let me know if I can help you with anything.

Re: Official Chateau La Mer '06 Thread!
I usually go to David James but I am not sure of the cost difference of the cost to have someone from Brooklyn go to LI vs. getting someone out in LI.

Re: Official Chateau La Mer '06 Thread!
For the rehearsals they generally do them the day of, but you can always arrange a different location with your officiant or work something out with CLM. I was told that I didn't need to be involved and that they would work the Bridal Party through it the day of before the guests arrive. As for the bakery, there is Black Forest, Campbells and another one. Does anyone know if we actually get to taste the cake?

Re: Official Chateau La Mer '06 Thread!
Lou told me that you could order like a smaple of what you wanted to see if it tastes good at the Black Forest Bakery.I too want to have a rehersal with my BP... So Clm lets us do a quick rehersal the day of before the guest arrive? Will that be enough time??? I am a little worried!!!

Does anyone have an update on renovations of the CH room on the 1st floor? I was there in November and they said it would probably be done by my wedding but I haven't been back yet.

I was there 3 weeks ago and the CH renovations did not start yet. Lou mentioned that they would be starting the renovations any day now.

I was there 2 weeks ago dropping off a payment and the renovations of the CH room had begun, but they wouldn't let me go see b/c of all the construction and tools that were in there.
