Dont worry guys.. the renovations are being done monday through thursday and it LITTLE peices so that it is not noticable to CH's that they had held in there

For WOTY they took down the columns on one whole side and redid some of the ceiling work but no one noticed!!!

Yes!! Back in feb '05 when we booked (wow... a yr since we booked!) Nick said they were getting rid of the blue lights.

Is anyone going to the Valentines Dinner/ Dance there on 2/11? They are having it in both rooms but when I called today the Atrium room SOLD OUT and only the 'Dock side room' was available.... I wonder if the reno's will be done by then...

Also for all those wondering about the cake from Black Forest Bakery, I called today and they said depending on your 'package' from the hall you get to chose from a choice of cakes/. If there is one that is not included then we are responsible to pay the hall. Once we call the bakery and tell them what we want they will create a sample so we can taste it!

We too were there for the WOTY 1/14 & Nick also told us the renovations should be complete by the end of Feb. (I believe) in the cocktail hour room. The blue lights will be gone & it will be a more muted color.

I'm going tonight to drop off a (late) payment....I'll see if we can take a peek.

I ordered a cake from Black Forest for my SIL's baby shower & the cake ROCKED....it was delicious & huge.

It was crazy....LIPA was doing some work & a few mile stretch of Lindenhurst went out--power-wise, CLM being part of that area. We pulled into the lot as the lights were off. We walked in & gave our deposit via flashlight. They were in the process of getting ready for a Wed. taste testing too....therefore, I wasn't able to see any changes to blue room. Nick was working his magic w/ a new possible CLM bride to be.

I didn't realize that Black Forest will make you a sample. I heard some negative reviews about them in the past, but it seems like nothing but positive reviews this past year so maybe we will check them out afterall. We were originially going to look at the other 2 places. Will they only give us a sample once we book with them?

Yes, he contacted me as well. We're going in 2 weeks. I don't think it's to do your final menu. I think he just wants to go over seating and menu options to familiarize you with it. I want to do another tasting before I pick my menu so I hope it's not final.

It went very well and it was to pick our final menu. He also gave us all the info for the last payment and when to the stuff for the tables like camera's, menu's etc. He gave us a chart to fill out with the number of people per table and now we are all set until the final payment is made. The most exciting part is that we got to see the CH room and the renovations are coming out nice and he said it should be done by the end of February. I'm so psyched because that was the only thing I didn't love.
