Nick called on Saturday and said we had to make an appointment to come in to do our menu. We are going on Sunday- I can't believe it is time do this already....Very exciting!

Lisa, How did it go? Did you have to pick out your final menu or was it just to discuss your options?

It went very well and it was to pick our final menu. He also gave us all the info for the last payment and when to the stuff for the tables like camera's, menu's etc. He gave us a chart to fill out with the number of people per table and now we are all set until the final payment is made. The most exciting part is that we got to see the CH room and the renovations are coming out nice and he said it should be done by the end of February. I'm so psyched because that was the only thing I didn't love.
Did you have your meeting yet?

Nope, we're meeting on Valentines Day! I thought we had longer to pick out the menu? Hmm, I had wanted to taste the food once more. I'm glad it went well for you. We think we're also going to swing by Black Forest Bakery that day as well talk about our cake. Has anyone met with them yet? I've been searching for photos of cakes.

Re: Official Chateau La Mer '06 Thread!

[
I didn't realize that Black Forest will make you a sample. I heard some negative reviews about them in the past, but it seems like nothing but positive reviews this past year so maybe we will check them out afterall. We were originially going to look at the other 2 places. Will they only give us a sample once we book with them?

When I called the bakery the girl that answered said to ask for Tommy, the owner, and he would make us a sample of what the flavors taste like... so I am going to hold her to that!

I'm not sure about the other questions, but as for menu's I think I remember someone saying that CLM will make you menus for a certain price (not much). But, we're making our own... so i'm not 100% sure.

Re: Official Chateau La Mer '06 Thread!

I believe it's only $100 for the menus, but i might be wrong. If that's the price, it's not bad AT ALL and I'll just let do it and not worry.

Is 175 a good price for menus?? Can I personalize it myself or is it a standard type??

Is Nick's email [email protected]??? I forgot it

Yes, that's his email. He responds really quickly. Could you let us know when you find out? Otherwise, we'll all keep guessing.

Nope, but I hope you can still get there w/ the snowstorm! We're having company this weekend, but we would have loved to go and eat the food again. Yumm..

The fee is for a personalized menus, they do standard menus for free (or at least we got ours that way so I think so- I had opted not to do menus and we had them there onthe wedding !)

Re: Official Chateau La Mer '06 Thread!

wow - ive been gone a LONG time.. glad to hear all this news.. I didnt like the blue lights in the CH room either!!

the menus - look into a printing place.. thats where im going - my friend did her menus and programs for about $100 - very plain, but elegant though.. you could also look into invitation books - they have ones in the back - wasnt as pricey as CLM..

remember - people just glance for a second at those menus - one per couple is fine too..

keep the updates coming - i have 6 months to go

Re: Official Chateau La Mer '06 Thread!

We met with Black Forest last weekend the day before we did the menu. Make sure you call ahead and make an appointment with Tommy. He is really cool and very helpful. I had checked out their website which had a couple of cakes I liked but when we got there he had a couple of photo albums to get ideas. He said that any buttercream cake is included and maybe whipped too but I can't remember because we wanted the rolled fondant which was extra.
