Re: FOX HOLLOW BRIDES - Question & Answer Thread
FYI... I did reserve a spot for the brunch on the 23rd. Victor did somewhat clarify something for me, however he did not give much detail. If you are interested in going, he said you can go for $20 and get brunch, take the extensive tour and learn everything about blocking rooms, however, if you don't block what ever minimum they set, you do not get the free room which is the Royal Suite, on your wedding night. (also, you have to block the rooms that day). He did not tell me the minimum that we would need to block, but we're going anyway b/c we do have a lot of out of townees and even with blocking two hotels I'm hoping I can meet their minimum with out paying extra.Anyone who isn't going and needs something answered in regards to the hotel let me know and I'll try to get as much info as possible when we go.
Also, is anyone else going?

I am also going and spoke to Victor briefly. He said the minimum block is 10 rooms and we need to gurantee 75% (7 rooms) or pay for the rooms that are missing up to that amount.

I'm going. Victor told me the rooms are $189 a night. I'm just soooo upset how expensive they are. Executive Inn is only $119 a night, and that's the price without blocking rooms. It has to be cheaper if you block rooms. Anyone know how much they charge and how the rooms are at Executive and Best Western?

I was told the minimum block was 10 nights (not rooms). I'm staying the night before so that counts as one night, FH and I on the wedding night counts as the 2nd...we would have to fill 5 others to meet the 7 night minimum. Lets make sure to clarify this at brunch ladies.

Re: FOX HOLLOW BRIDES - Question & Answer Thread
Does anyone else have a problem with the rooms being so expensive? Do you think if all of us at the brunch raise this concern he might lower the prices? The economy is HORRIBLE right now and to ask people to spend that much on one night for a wedding is just too much.

The price of the room with the discount is $190 in the off season. Keep in mind that it is a suite. I don't think that's alot of money at all.

$190 plus all the taxes comes to over $200. I guess we all have different situations with finances. I couldn't afford to go to a wedding and shell out over $500 for the night. Between a gift, travels and accomodations. I feel bad for my guests. I know they are suites, but Victor told me that is the room for a studio suite. So a room with a king size bed and a small fridge is considered a suite. It's not the one bedroom two beds suite you see on the website.

teh rooms are 189 per night & if you getthe double beds peole can share & split the cost! If you feel that this is still to expensive then check-out the other options nearby. Im sure they will have good prices.

That makes no sense pretty much. If it's for a wedding it's a block of 10 rooms. I talked to Victor a month and a half ago and he told me that it was a block of 10 rooms and we needed to guarantee 75% of them to be booked or else my CC would be charged.

It does make sense...it came up because my bridal party is staying the night before. Just call and talk to him...will clear it all up. Maybe it changed since you last spoke with them.

Usually if someone in your block is staying say Friday night & Saturday night, that will count as 2 nights (or 2 rooms) -- so it would be 2 towards the minimum of 7.

Exactly it does make sense. If you speak with him you will understand it.

I guess 10 nights and 10 booked rooms are the same thing? I understand what you are saying about if you stay 2 nights and 8 other rooms are booked the night of your wedding by other guests then they consider that 10 nights -

Just want to let you girls know a few months ago, my mother and I went Executive Inn/best western in woodbury. Honestly, I didnt ahve the best impression and customer service was bad. The rooms were tiny, I mean tiny....I could never see my fbil, his wife and 3 children sleeping in there. The people were rude. The room also smelt musty.Maybe it was an off day.....but we decided to get block at Fox Hollow Inn, I have to call victor actually.

I felt the same way. We saw a nonsmoking room and it smelt disgusting. It was also very small as you mentioned. My friends ended up staying there against my recommendation and were creeped out by what the found left in the nightstand. We ended up blocking at the Four Points in Sheraton and it was great.
Some people haven't had a problem, but I was not going to send my guests there.
