Re: FOX HOLLOW BRIDES - Question & Answer Thread

I'm gonna kinda respond to a few posts in one so sorry for the long post, but here goes:

We also went to the brunch, It was a little unorganized i thought as far as questions/answers. I assumed they would be more upfront about the process/ prices/ procedures, but it seemed except for the tour, we had to ask about everything we wanted to know. It was very well done for the 1st one ever held. Victor was so overwhelmed with people that we had to block rooms via telephone which wasn't too bad. The contract will be sent to us in the mail and i'll check about the comp room being there for the person who asked (sorry i forgot)

I do recommend going to the one in February!!

I did see the robes and slippers in the hotel rooms, they were in the closets.

The food was decent, I talked to them about holding a rehearsal dinner or next morning brunch and realized that it would be held exactly how our brunch was where the food was outside the room, and the room to me at least was more of a business room. Maybe not what i was thinking for my affair.

When we blocked rooms we had to tell him how many rooms to block per night, so I started with 10 total but split them between two days ( i.e. 2 the night before and 7 the night of). I was a little unprepared to figure this out over the phone. I was surprised to get a cheaper quote when I blocked over the phone than the quote he gave us the day of the brunch. The prices were a bit expensive so I do need to find a 2nd hotel for some guests as well.

As for my reception/ceremony $85.00 / person for a Friday August 13th wedding (supposedly with a Friday the 13th discount??) and I'm paying 750 for the ceremony and 400 for Rev. Nick.

No, just a credit card on file (they do not put a hold on funds on the card either)

Hmmm, I know they have direction cards, but the directions are already printed on the back of the FH directon cards. My plan is to include a line on the invites, something like rooms have been blocked at the Fox Hollow Inn and Executive Inn. Then the direction cards would be in the envelope with the info. The other idea is I may print up a seperate enclosure about hotel info for the invites. Anyone else doing something different? I would love a suggestion.

I found save the date magnets that come in a holder and the hotel info can be placed on the back of the holder. They did mention giving us cards for the hotel blocking but I didn't get any yet.

Re: FOX HOLLOW BRIDES - Question & Answer Thread

To Brides who were in the Briar Fox Room

When we toured the room, Dave told us about how the DJ has his own booth and the speakers usually go near the door/dance floor, which is away from the DJ. I know this isn't a normal DJ set up (they usually have speakers in front of their booth). Did anyone who used an outside vendor have any issues?

We are using Bravura, and they are very familiar with the set up of the Briar Fox room - they even drew us a picture of the room to show us how everything has to be set up -- If you are using a vendor that works Fox Hollow often, you will probably not have any issues...

From what I was told, other vendors that aren't recommended by the Fox Hollow are not allowed to use the wiring they have set up for the speakers, which can make it inconvenient having wires running through the room. I would call and ask about this if I were you, just to clarify how the DJ will hook things up.

We used Bravura so we didn't have an issue. They were AMAZING and well worth the money - though I didn't feel like we really splurged, it didn't set us back too much at all - but an any rate they were the best DJ's I've ever heard and many guests raved about the music.

that makes me feel good --we're using Bravura too. they were the 1st and only DJ we saw...FH loved them...we are also having Paul sing & play piano, & an upright bass at the cocktail hour.
Oh ..we did also see Body Rock at a showcase...they were just a wee bit too high energy for me...i dont need all those acrobatics..lol

Re: FOX HOLLOW BRIDES - Question & Answer Thread

I actually never heard of that. I mentioned to the Banquet manager what DJ I was using, which is not part of Fox Hollow and never once did they mention it was going to be hard for them to wire.

I will call this morning to confirm.

Re: FOX HOLLOW BRIDES - Question & Answer Thread

ahh! i hope not- my DJ is coming from California!! I'm Persian, FH is American and so I needed a primarily Persian DJ who does international/american music and this guy was the only one I found and he's insured and everything but I hope FH doesn't make an issue of it!

I never heard of that either.....every vendor I went to see knew the layout of that room and knew exactly where everything had to go. I wouldn't worry too much.

I would call, esp if you are in the Briar Fox room - the speakers need to be set up in a different manner than the way most DJ's set them up due to the configuration of the room -- just make sure your DJ is aware of this.

Re: FOX HOLLOW BRIDES - Question & Answer Thread

I'm not blocking rooms there.. I didn't think it was fair that I would get charged if I didn't meet the % of rooms requirement... I didn't want to take a chance.. I only have 1 friend who wants to stay there..everyone else would rather save the $ and stay the Best Western. I told him he could still stay there but wouldn't get a discounted rate... oh well.
