Oh I just wanted to add too that he did a great job. I had never met him or his wife but I talked to his wife on the phone a few times, I never actualy talked to him. But he did an awesome job and made some jokes, it was very comfortable. I thought I was going to cry either walking down the aisle or during the ceremony but I didn't!!!
Aww! Well that is really good to know! Thanks for the info!

Re: FOX HOLLOW BRIDES - Question & Answer Thread
Just catching up- can answer a few questions definitively.. but first a suggestion- i know the search function on here isn't so great, but lots of these questions have been asked in the past, so go read back a little when you have time.. you'll learn a lot!- Fox Hollow provided us with a cake stand and server. We had our own toasting flutes.
- I freaked over the cakes and hated what FH had to offfer. Went back and forth with them over what they could give me in exchange for a VERY long time.. eventually got them to switch it for a martini bar at cocktail hour, but was told that it was a really big stretch for them to do that.. they did outright offer an extra chafing dish, an ice sculpture or something else i can't remember (but i'm sure i discussed it on here, maybe 10-20 pages back or more.. look around july/august).
- The ceremony is taxed. I also think the service charge is subject to tax because it is a 'service charge', not a 'gratuity' and therefore, per NY law, it must be taxed. Again, I am sure I posted about this at some point. When i did my calculations (which seemed to be the way FH did them too), I taxed everything separately (ceremony, reception, service charge) and then added it all up.
- The Maitre D should be able to run everything smoothly, just make sure that he has the exact same schedule as every other vendor- I didn't think to print out various copies and just told Frank the times I wanted.. and it got messed up, which was annoying.
good luck to everyone with upcoming weddings!!

Re: FOX HOLLOW BRIDES - Question & Answer Thread
Ladies,FH and I attended the Brunch at the Inn today, I have never been more proud to be a Fox Hollow Bride! The service, the food, the attention was amazing. For $20 we were treated to the Gold Coast Brunch, a string quartet played throughout and were given a tour of the different rooms. They had raffles at the end and everyone walked away with Fox Hollow chocolates, mugs with powered hot cocoa and a cute stuffed fox. Cute, super cute.
The Royal Suite is something to be seen! Overall, something to treat yourselves to, I believe they will be doing it again in February to promote room blocks.
What a great time!

We also attend on Sunday and LOVED it! I agree with everything that MrsCastanedain09 said. We even won a robe and slippers and we never win anything! I cannot waith to stay at the Inn at Fox Hollow. The food, service, and rooms are wonderful! I believe they said the next bruch will be the week after February, if you did not make this one and plan to book the hotel you should definitely attend!!

I was there. Good for you that you won!!! That robe looks comfy.I didn't notice, but do they supply those robes in the rooms? Are they in the closets? I was hoping so. We blocked rooms and got the Royal Suite! It's so gorgeous and we were told we get a bottle of champagne, chocolates and flowers the night of the wedding! I have such a long time to go - I can't wait!!!!!!

Just a question because my FMIL brought it up - she said we HAVE to bring our own cake knife/server because reception halls don't have them ??? I find that odd being that they serve cake & such in their restaurant....
I know its a whole 'heirloom' thing.. but im not one to buy an expensive cake knife if i dont have to...
Do i have to bring my own cake knife/server??
I am 90% sure Fox Hollow will provide one for you if you don't have one. I believe an 08 bride used the Fox Hollow cake server set.
They had one for us to use. We didn't bring our own.

Thanks! I was wondering the same thing about the robes in the room becuase I didn't notice. Did your paperwork say your room info (your royal suite). I didn't see it on mine so I am going to call and check again soon, just a bit nervous about things!

And at the brunch at the Inn when they brought us outside, I suggested they put a fire pit and heating lamps in the courtyard. He told me that's not a bad idea and will look into it! I HOPE THEY DO IT FOR US WINTER BRIDES!!!!

Just make sure you take your menu and a list of any questions you may have. I actually had 4 pgs of questions when I went
but Ann Marie basically answered everything before i even asked. You'll basically start remembering things to ask once they start throwing questions at you. Like Ann Marie was asking what kind of centerpieces i was using, asking about my vendors, giving me a basic timeline for the day and so forth. In her asking and explaining things to me, she answered most of my questions and things that she told me prompted me to ask questions that i forgot to write down.

I am considering Fox Hollow as my ceremony and reception hall. Curious to find out the price ranges you ladies spent pp for reception. Also, what was the fee for ceremony?Me and my fiance are working on a tight budget and I would like to have a little more insight before we make an appt.
Thank you in advance.

Re: FOX HOLLOW BRIDES - Question & Answer Thread
If you're willing to get married in the off season (Jan-Mar) or have a daytime wedding, you can definitely work wonders w/ the price! Before i moved my date to June, i got quoted around 75pp for a Sat night in March (was cheaper for Friday/ sat day), plus you get a free night in the Inn if you get married in the off season.I do not have the ceremony fee though, sorry!
Good luck!
