are the invitations that pwp has expensive?
It depends on what you deem is expensive. I was given a quote on 2 different style invites and they were $700 and $800+ for only 75 invites. One style was pocket fold style but without the inserts and the other was just a plain flat card style. They were beautiful in the sense that they were printed on metallic paper and the envelopes had linings but that was it. It wasn't anything spectacular. Plus I thought it was rediculous that they charge everything seperately. Like the rsvp cards, response envelopes, invite, pocket, and lining. Not only that they charge an additional $3.00 per invite to include three extra words 'reception immediately following'
Honestly i know ALOT if ppl have spent well into the thousands for invitations and if I had the money i probably would have spent way more than i did but honestly that wasn't a major thing for me. So $700 or $800 may not be alot but i thought it was a bit excessive for only 75 invites.
HTH
P.S I ended up doing my own invites and they were pocket fold for less than $250.00 for 100 invites and that's including postage for the few i had to mail.

They have MANY books you can look through with invites in ALL price ranges... At first I picked something that i thought was simple and inexpensive....we were quoted $700 for 125 (including everything) --- for me that was alot..invitations are not something i wanted to spend more than a couple hundred on... we were able to find something simple but nice for around $300. If you only need 100 invites, you may be able to keep the cost down more...

They have the same invitation books as anyone else does. For the same price. If anything, you might be better off with a local place since they have a certain percent discount that they can give on certain companies. For example mine gave me (I think) a 25 % discount on carlton craft. FM me if you want details.

The quality of the paper has to do with the company who makes them, not the seller. I agree many of the online invites that looked 'cute' online looked like crap in person. Looking at the books def. helps.

I definitely agree. Invitations are something you should not really order online. You want to see & feel the quality of the paper... it may look great online and may look completely different when you get a proof.

I looked online and got free samples of the ones I was interested in so that I could touch and feel them as well as see them up close. In the end we ordered one of them after loving the sample and now my invitations are here and we love them! Either way you definitely need a sample.

I am ordering my invites from PWP (they're bookmarked for me when the time comes) they are about 600 for 175 invites and it includes everything, I also ordered cocktail napkins for like, 200.00.

I would go to both.. the tea party is ALOT smaller than the showcases.. its more personal you actually get to talk to the PWP girls.. and they can really take the time to answer questions...

i guess it depends, i thought the tea party was a waste of time for me. but if you really have no idea what to do or what you want, then definitely go to both.

FHs can come to the showcase, a lot do, a lot don't. They can't come to the tea party, though.

Re: FOX HOLLOW BRIDES - Question & Answer Thread
Ladies-Let me start by thanking you for being there every time I have a rant, question or just need a chuckle. I am not on the boards much but when I do you always make it worthwhile.
Since I last wrote my mother found out that she has permanent damage (paralysis of left arm and constant pain/nerve damage) as a result of a triple bypass. She is going to have to retire from work. I am freaking out a bit, but she is alive and has a good quality of life. It pains me that she is not able to play a more active role in my wedding planning, but she does what she can and will walk me down the aisle.
On the wedding front, I have also booked all of the major vendors for my wedding which at least takes that pressure off. I need to call Ken at Fox Hollow to as him a bunch of questions, why he doesn’t have email is beyond my comprehension! Now all I really need to do if find invitations and dresses for my girls. Then start all of the little things (programs, napkins, etc.)
In any case, I wanted to take a second to thank my fellow Fox Hollow Brides. Happy New Year and Happy Planning! 2009 is going to be a great year!
